Vehicle Detail

This auction is for my 1953 Studebaker Commander Resto Mod coupe. It's showing just over 4000 miles which I'm assuming is when the work was done to the car. I acquired it a few months ago for a driver / project but things have changed. It has a 400 CI GM small block mated to a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission. I was told it has a 80's vintage Monte Carlo front end with disc brakes. The rest of the drivetrain is original Studebaker. Inside the gauges are all VDO and are all functioning properly. It has "Vintage Air" installed. I have not tried it to see if it's operational. The interior was recently replaced by the previous owner, including seat covers and door panels. The engine runs great! The transmission shifts perfectly! Now for the issues that the car has. From everything I've been able to determine this 400CI engine is quite a bit lighter than the original Studebaker engine thus the front end sits higher and is now too tightly sprung. It gets to be hand full when driving it. The previous owner drove it daily and was used to it's handling. Many "non experts" have recommended putting lighter springs in the front end which would lower the front end plus make the handling better. I'm not an expert but it sounds reasonable. A front end / spring expert could probably tell for sure. There is the usual Studebaker rust coming in the rear of the front fenders on both sides. Easily addressed by a good body shop. It needs new interior carpet and some general detailing. The chrome "TQ" wheels are starting to get some corrosion but look fine for now. The front tires are showing some wear front the front end issues. I have to say that this is a driver that gets looks all the time when driving around town. It just needs to be taken to the next level and it will be a real head turner!! The car is for sale locally and could be sold and the auction ended at any time. There are no warranties of any kind. Transportation is at the buyers expense. I can recommend some haulers if needed. $500 deposit through PayPal required upon purchasing the car. Please feel free to ask any and all questions about the car and I'll do the best I can to answer them. I did not build this car so I don't know all. Make me a reasonable offer and it could be yours!! I'm a motivated seller!! GOOD LUCK!!!
