The superb 300 Horsepower 4.2 V8 mated to a 6 speed ZF transmission features here which gives more power and better MPG than the previous, also superb 4.0 V8 motors. (27.2 MPG is what I received in a similar car over an 1100 mile, mainly highway trip recently. I wasn't feathering the throttle pedal either. I was getting the job done! That, folks is quite exceptional for a 4.2 V8). The 4.2 Liter XK8 is the one to own. An absolute pleasure. This car has been inspected and found to be mechanically and electrically superb.
