Vehicle Detail
KultureshotStudio Store 1955 Bel-Air Gasser. CLEAR TITLE. Custom fabrication. Body modifacations The rear wheel wells have been radiused in a way that opens them up enough to easily get the rear wheels off, but didn't require cutting the trim. They have a finished lip around them that perfectly matches the front fenders. The floors and rockers were patched up with new metal where needed. The body has a 6 point roll-bar that is welded to reinforced points in the floors. The gas fill door was shaved and a fuel cell was installed in the trunk. The battery was also relocated to the trunk. The doors and frontend are fiberglass the rest of the body is original steel. The hood has a teardrop scoop. The paint is black and burnt orange metallic brushed on and clear coated. The front and rear windshields are both good driver quality factory tinted glass with new seals on each. The back glass does have all new clips under the seal for the trim to fasten to. The quarter windows are new ¾ inch plexi and are stationary. Frame The frame is a completely unique design front to back. There is no other one like it anywhere. It started out with a set of handmade front rails that taper from 6 inches down to 3 inches and have speed holes lined with schedule 40 pipe for added strength. The front hole is a pipe that runs from side to side serving as both a cross member and a nostalgic push bar type bumper. I then built off of the front clip using 2X3 box steel and formed the main rails leading back. Then to strengthen it further I created a full X-Member within the frame and plated over all of the joints on the main rails with plate steel. Drivetrain The motor is a 355 Small Block chevy. Block #3970010. The engine has approximatly 30,000 miles on it since it was rebuilt. It runs strong and holds good oil pressure with no smoking. It is built as a street/strip type of motor with a good cam in it. It has Mickey Thompson valve covers, a brand new Edelbrock 650cfm carb, an Offenhauser 360 intake, and some brand new Doug's Fenderwell headers. The transmission is a 400 turbo that shifts strong and is very reliable, it is equiped with an Indy Hurst shifter. The driveshaft is an aluminum shaft from a 2000 crown vic police car with a spicer yoke for the trans. The rear-end has rebuilt drum brakes making this a Disc-Drum combination. Suspension It has leaf springs all the way around, just the way they used to do them. They front springs are brand new super-slide springs from speedway. The front axle is from a 47-54 Chevy truck and has been updated with new kingpins, bushings, and Disc Brakes. It has also been converted to cross-steer with a corvair steering box. The rear has some custom made 75 inch long ladder bars that help keep the rear wheels from bouncing around on you when you take off. They mount about up to where the trans cross-member is located. Electrical The entire car has been re-wired with all new wire and is bare bones. It has a new fuse panel using the newer style fuses. All of the brake lights, turn signals, and headlights are wired up. The fuse panel still has a couple spots in it if you want to add any luxury items, but for now it just has the necessities. The turn signal switch is an aftermarket clamp on style switch from speedway. I also used a speedway column with the quick release steering wheel hub. Below are some shots of the frame when it was in the process of being built. Payment is expected within 7 days of the auctions end. The buyer is responsible for making shipping arrangements if necessary. I reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason as the car is for sale locally. Please feel free to schedule a time to come check the car out if you are interested in it. Do not bid on the car site unseen then complain about minor details when you get it. You are buying the car AS-IS WHERE-IS No warranties expressed or implied. In all honesty you are buying a full custom hot rod, it's not for the faint of heart and you need to have some mechanical know how to own a vehicle of this caliber. It's not a brand new vehicle that you take to the dealership every three months to have some service done and be on your way. On Nov-09-13 at 17:10:52 PST, seller added the following information: LOWER RESERVE! Forgot to mention in the description, The battery, Alternator, Starter, and all the fuel lines, brake lines, and trans lines are all NEW. The front wheels are old American Racing torq thrust wheels, the rear wheels are steel Crager deluxe wheels. The front and rear tires are brand new Firestone pie crust tires. Rear tires are two-groove cheater slicks.
