Vehicle Detail

This is a nice driver condition 64 Vette that I purchased a couple years ago to fill a hole in my bucket list. My wife and I have enjoyed the car immensely, and have taken several hundred mile plus trips in it, as well as many cruise nights, local shows, and just enjoying drives in the country. I’ve had my fun now, and it’s time for someone else to enjoy the car. This car had slid off the previous owners single post service lift and hit the cement block wall next to it. discouraged, and unable to repair it himself, he sold the car to me. I repaired the existing factory fiberglass, and only needed to replace a small portion of the right side inner wheel-well in front of the radiator core support, (which hides the splice nicely). the rest of the bodywork is original to the car. the bonding strip in the right fender was knocked loose, but was able to be re-used. it now looks as it should. Other than this incident, in the POs garage, it appears that the car has never taken a big hit of any kind. a very solid car as far as I can see. Since I’ve had the car it’s received an extensive refresh, including brakes, radial tires, carpet, many interior items were repainted and/or cleaned, the top frame was sand blasted and repainted, all new weatherstrip installed and a new Al Knoch top was professionally installed. headlight door motors were refreshed and lubed, rear bumpers re chromed, and other trim was polished. it also has a brand new, and crystal clear, tinted windshield installed. to top it off, the car received a respray, over the mostly original riverside red paint, using a modern urethane single stage paint in the stock color. The engine is the very nice running NOM early 350 with a small cam and vintage manifold that was in the car when I purchased it. hot or cold, it always starts right up and has been totally dependable for me. I believe the close ratio Muncie trans is original to the car and also shifts very well with it’s nice tight vintage Mr Gasket shifter. rear end contains a 4:11 posi. the original am/fm radio is in place and does work (such that they were in 1964). a quartz clock replaces the original. the wipers wipe and the gauges gauge, although the odometer ceased to function a few months ago, the speedo works fine. temp gauge isn’t very accurate, but the car holds 180* or less (I check with an ir temp gun), even during our bumper to bumper “Back to the 50s” cruise this summer in 100+ heat. The factory sidepipes have had small glass pack mufflers added between them and the header collectors, so it’s a bit quieter than many sidepipe cars, but still has a very nice throaty rumble. If you’r looking for an NCRS car, this is not it, there are small dings and blemishes throughout the car if you really look, but if you’d like a nice drivable midyear that gets plenty of thumbs up and can be proudly entered in local shows yet still driven to the grocery store without worries, perhaps you will consider this one. It’s a 50 year old car, with 50 year old technology, and as such it’s sold with no warranty or claims of perfection. I also strongly recommend bidders come look at the car in person, or have someone do it for you, before bidding. a winning bid is not a chance to come look the car over and decide if you want it. I require a non-refundable $500.00 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of a winning bid, with the balance due by bank to bank transfer or cash in hand within 7 days. if either of these requirements are not met, the car will be re-listed, with no exceptions. I’m available to help with loading the car for domestic shipment, but of course the winning bidder will be required to make, and pay for, those shipping arrangements. clear Oregon title is in my name.
