Dune Buggies hit the scene in the mid 1960's, by the time they reached their peak in the early 1970's many different Dune Buggies were on the market. Only one Dune Buggy stands out for it's unique and beautiful design. Very few of these exist today - the Concept 1 Dune Buggy. The Concept 1 was introduced in mid 1971 and all the high profile car and hot rod magazines featured this Dune Buggy. The 1971 Hot Rod Pictorial Magazine did a full page on the Concept 1 and raved about it's sports car two seater design. One unique feature was that the Volkswagen frame was shortened 19 inches to give it that sports car look. The last two pictures are from the 1971 Hot Rod Pictorial Magazine. This Dune Buggy comes with brushed aluminum super rare 200S American racing wheels and huge Goodyear polyglass tires. I purchased this Dune Buggy from the original owner in 2000. It is a California car. It was used one season then put into dry storage, then taken out of storage in 2000 and purchased by me. I used it for one season until the original 1600cc engine seized up upon which I put it back into storage minus the engine. I added much needed front disc brakes. It comes with a 1968 Volkswagen title. The original paint shows wear and has some cracking and scratches but is a very solid original survivor. Very shiny and eye catching. The interior has the original bucket seats in super nice condition with no rips or tears. Mint time period original silver metal flake steering wheel. The undercarriage has been detailed and is rust free. This is the only known Concept 1 Dune Buggy in this condition. Highly coveted by collectors. This Dune Buggy comes with NO MOTOR.
