Vehicle Detail
1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 Wagon for sale. This was a project of mine that I have been working on for the past year and a half. It is not finished at this time, however, the vehicle is complete and runs/drives. I am selling it because I moved and no longer have space for it, otherwise, I'd finish it and sell it when complete. The truck is originally a Utah truck that I bought non-running from a friend whose family had owned it for many years. It is a good, solid start (perhaps midpoint) for a project. My plans for this rig was to fix the rust, do a desmog, and add a Trollhole carburetor. Though it will never be a perfect, rust-free example, it is an honest, hardworking truck that, with the right care can provide many more years of service. Body/Chassis-Frame is solid, only has surface rust. No structural rust.-Body mounts are solid, may have surface rust in some areas.-Significant work has been done to mitigate rust issues. Driver's rear quarter panel still has a hole in it, however, most other body panels have been repaired and primed.-Front passenger fender has a medium-sized dent at the front. -Front bumper is straight, rear bumper has a dent on the right hand side.-Skid plate is not on vehicle at the time, bolts sheared and will require drilling.-New front passenger door from a donor vehicle.-Save for a small paint bubble, the roof is 100% rust-free.-Front marker lights replaced with aftermarket variants.-All glass good, no cracks or chips in windshield. Engine and Drivetrain-Complete engine and driveline with low original miles. -The engine has a slight knock, attributed to a stuck lifter. Sound recording available upon request.-Leaks oil from the rear main seal, and left side of front axle.-Transmission shifts well, without grinding. Recent clutch.-To my knowledge, it does not have the pesky leak between the transmission and transfer case that plagues many of these vehicles.-4WD works well in Hi and Lo range. Transfer case shifts smooth.-Smog system is intact. Functionality is unknown, but I was told it passed smog in Utah a few years back. (Emissions testing not required where I live).-Brand new aftermarket metal radiator. Interior-Driver and passenger seats are in rough shape, but still comfortable, and could be covered by seat covers.-Rear seat in good shape, one seat belt buckle non-functional. -Doorcards in good condition, recently replaced from donor vehicle. RF doorcard cut for speakers.-Dash has many cracks, and is missing radio. -Carpet was removed, floor was cleaned, sanded, and bedlined.-Headliner free of cuts or damage.-Rear cargo panels damaged or missing.-Majority of interior trim pieces are intact. Miscellaneous-30x9.5R15 BF Goodrich All Terrain tires. Low tread depth and weather cracks on 3 of 4 tires. -Original wheels in good shape, minor rust.-Speedometer cable missing, was removed because the one in my other 60 broke. Mileage is accurate, save for a few trips around the block.-Air conditioning components intact, but functionality has not been tested.-Extra parts can be included. If interested, I'll let you know what I've got laying around the garage.-172,260 original miles (keep in mind that the average FJ60 is between 200 and 300k miles). Despite the vehicle history check showing an odometer discrepancy, to my knowledge the mileage is accurate and true.On Oct-27-13 at 20:47:20 PDT, seller added the following information:Vehicle Sold AS-IS.
