1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 4X4 with 5.9L V8 engine. 119,540 miles. The vehicle was parked in a lady's back yard for several years. I needed to buy an interium vehicle to drive while I was working on another Grand Wagoneer project. The Jeep appealed to me, so I bought it. The body is real straight, with only two dents (one on right front fender, around wheel well, real small and the second is on rear quarter panel behind rear wheel, low on panel and really not very noticable). Being in the lady's yard the Jeep was exposed to the elements. The sun took it's toll on the exterior paint. It is not show room quality. It is thin in places. I think the clear coat is pretty much gone from the most exposed areas to the sun. However, when I first got the Jeep, a year ago, I buffed the the vehicle and put a quality wax on it, and it has not gotten any worse. The wood grain is in beautiful condition. The colors are bright, no cracks or scrath makes. It does have a few spots that will need attention. One is around the left rear clearance light, where it looks like the case for the light was to tight and it cut through the wood grain decal and over the years has allowed moisture to set in and creat surface rust. That is the worst spot. The interior of the vehicle is nice and clean. The leather is all good except for the driver seat has two tear spots, where driver legs extended to the front of the seat. The head liner was replaced by previous owner and looks great. The carpet is good, but has some discoloration in spots where the sun light got in. There is a roof mounted console for compass, tempereature, lights and etc. The compass and temperature does not work at the present time. When I took possession of the vehicle, the lady I bought it from told me she had just prior to parking it, had the vehicle engine tuned. This included rebuilding the two barrel carburator, new spark plugs, new plug wires, distributor cap, new ignition module, new air filter and new radiator hoses. I bought a new battery for the Jeep. Since I bought the Jeep, I have driven it over 5,000 miles and it performs on the road better than any Jeep I have ever driven. I have owned Jeeps since the late 1960's. This is the only full size Jeep I have driven that gets more thatn 16 miles per gallon in town and on the road. All the windows work, I lubricated the up and down motors and the window motor tracks. This includes the tail gate window. I have replaced the outer window seals on all the windows. All the gauges work as designed, except the oil pressure gauge. It goes to 45+ and then goes to the top of reading and holds there. This is a common Grand Wagoneer problem. The clock works, the original radio works, air conditioner works cold, and the heater does a great job. The cruise control works, the power seats work, and the power door locks work. The rear window defogger and the rear wiper do not work. I do believe with repair of front driver seat bottom for about $400.00, maybe new carpet for $200.00 and a new paint job for whatever amount, that this Jeep would sell up there with the $15K to $20,000.000 like original Jeeps. However, if you want to buy the Jeep and drive it like it is and getmany compliments on a daily basis, then you need to get serious and investigate this Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
