Vehicle Detail
You can expect to get anywhere from 28-30 MPG in the city and 31-33 MPG on the highway in this Toyota-made vehicle, and it would make a great car for a commuter or for someone who is tired of paying for a lot of gas and who wants a compact car that has more room head and legroom than most cars and some trucks! The car comfortably seats five people! The car does have keyless entry and remote start. Kelly Blue Book Value for this vehcle in fair condition is $3,719 and $4,394 in good condition. This car is power by a 4-Cylinder DOHC 16 valve 1.5liter VVT-I engine and has a 4 speed automatic transmission. This vehicle is front-wheel drive and handles extraordinarily well in the snow. This vehicle is sold as-is, where is. This car has never had or required any major repairs, and all maintenaince has been performed as scheduled. The transmission fluid has been replaced twice, and within the last 6 months. The brakes have been replaced within the last 18 months. The tires have been replaced within the last year and have been rotated every 6,000 miles. The oil has been religiously changed at the factory recommended 5,000 mile interval. The check engine, VSC, and TRAC OFF lights have been on for the past 90,000 miles without any perceived effect on the vehicle, except that traction control no longer works. This is a common problem in this model year Scion and the three lights are called within the Scion community the "three stooges" because it is a difficult problem to diagnose (google the term "scion xb three stooges" and you'll see what I mean). The air conditioning was recharged in the this summer, and the engine coolant was flushed and replaced this summer as well. The car's interior and exterior do show signs of wear. The car was used as a daily commuter (100+ miles) and for road trips to see immediate family out of state for holidays and birthdays. Therefore, at least 100,000 miles are highway miles. While the paint has not faded, there are minor scratches, a few chips, and a few very small spots where some rusting is beginning. The rear window wiperDue to the number of highway miles I put on this car, the air dam below the bumper is pitted from road debris and the windshield has a few spots where it was chipped. All chips were repaired by Safelite Auto Glass. Please see the photographs, as I tried to capture this to give you a fair idea of what the car is. The interior exhibits nothing more than normal wear and tear for the car's age and mileage, and the backseat and passenger seat and their carpet are virtually flawless. Recently, the driver's power door lock has stopped working - it must be worked manually. The sound system is a factory Pioneer system that sounds very good, and has AM/FM/CD and MP3 functionality and Sirius capability. It has factory fog lights, factory floor mats, an after-market aluminum billet grill (added this year), and a K&N air filter. Because this car is made by Toyota, it probably has many, many more years and miles left in it.
