1961 Chevrolet Impala 35,000 miles I bought this car for my collection but found a different one so now I am selling this. I have not seen it in person because I am in California and the car is in storage in New Orleans. If you wish you can inspect the car or send a third party to inspect it for you. As-is no warranty. The description below is from the previous owner. You are looking at a beautiful classic car. I constantly get compliments when I drive this car, it attracts a lot of attention. Car was purchased new in 61' by my great grandmother and has remained in our family ever since. Garage kept, clean title and clean vehicle history. Vehicle is exterior black w/ white stripe; 4 Door "Bubble Top" model w/ no door post in between front & rear windows. Tan interior. Engine is original factory 283 cubic inch V8. Automatic Transmission is absolutely flawless. Vehicle was taken out of storage Oct. 2012, our mechanic performed all standard maintenance necessary after being in storage and not driven for many years. In total we spent $2,000 on the following items: -tires -windshield wiper motor -gas tank -sending unit -fuel pump -coil -spark plugs & wires -regulator -water pump -battery -front & rear wheel cylinders -tachometer (aftermarket) -rebuilt brakes -rebuilt carburetor -radiator cleaned & checked, installed new hoses -front end alignment -changed all fluids (oil & filter, transmission, brake, coolant, etc.) -headlamps Motor oil & filter changed every 2,000 miles for entire life of car. Mechanically car is a 10/10, perfect driving condition, very reliable. In March 2013 car was driven from our farm in Erie, PA to our home in New Orleans, LA with no problems whatsoever. An absolute pleasure to drive! Vehicle was purchased new in New York and did not come with factory A/C. Body and interior have some light cosmetic imperfections but overall in average condition for an original, non restored classic. The biggest cosmetic in interior is damage done to front seat and seat padding by a rodent while vehicle was in storage. Front seat cover has been removed so the damage is visible. The rear seat is in good condition and needs no repair. Light rusting under rear wheels was caused by the salts used to melt ice on roads during winter in New York, rust is not structural.
