We put a brand new top of the line canvas top on this car ($800). We also then put on new tires ($500). Then the engine quit. We found an engine with 40k miles on it in and everything seemed to work fine. Drove it two days then found out it was throwing transmission fluid. I was told either the "front or rear seal is bad." The VW mechanic is 120 miles away and we don't want to keep going back and forth so we're putting it up for sale "as is".
