Vehicle Detail
I bought this Toyota truck a few months ago having some desire to use it for my business. Once I got in to it, I discovered it's far too nice to use it for the intended purpose. I decided to make it even nicer and possibly drive it myself, but it will just end up sitting and going to crap, it needs to go to a good home. This truck was owned by a friend of a friend for the past 11 years. He was an elderly guy that drove it every day, and took great care of it but the paint was faded on the roof and hood. And it needed some minor fixes. With that said, I will walk you around the truck exactly as I see it. Here is a video of the truckhttp://youtu.be/vrC93jhG4BwExteriorI had the entire truck mostly disassembled and painted with DuPont Nason base/clear in the original red color. The bumpers, all chrome, tailgate, hood, and doors were completely removed or disassembled for the paint job. It turned out extremely nice. The inside of the bed is original paint as the truck had a bedliner since new. I replaced the chrome front bumper and grill and replaced the Toyota tailgate graphic. The truck looks brand new. There are a couple of tiny dings that were missed during the bodywork stage but none of them are significant. The wheels were repainted along with the black trim as needed. Again, the truck looks showroom new. InteriorI replaced the carpet, as the original was fairly worn out. It looks good but it wasn't a perfect fit, as is the case with most aftermarket parts. Again, this is a very minor gripe. The original upholstery has some minor seam separations. A nice seat cover would be in order. There is some normal wear and tear on the armrests, dash and steering wheel, nothing that can't be easily remedied. The dome light lens is long gone and the aftermarket cd player is a little dated. Someone cut holes in the door panels for speakers, which I replaced with brand new speakers. It sounds OK for cruising. MechanicalNew shocks, new tie rod ends, drag link, and front steering stabilizer. I use only Moog parts for front end repair. New radiator and a full tune up was about the only things that this truck needed. All of the long term maintenance was done as needed before I got it. The whitewall tires were on it when I got it and they are in great shape. This truck runs, shifts and drives great. All lights and gauges work. AC and heat work great. No leaks, squeaks or rattles. OverallIt's not perfect but this is a nice truck that has a ton of life left. It's an original Florida truck bought brand new in Sarasota Florida and what was at the time Templeton Toyota. I have the original window sticker, owners manuals, and some other paperwork. The original jack is behind the seat. I also have a clear Florida title in the name of my business. I would absolutely fly here from anywhere in the country and drive this truck anywhere. If you have any questions, you can call me at 941-720-0300, my name is Jason. I am offering this truck at no reserve, the highest bidder will win it. You just don't see real "made in Japan" Toyota trucks like this one with full documentation and in this condition too often. Bid to win!!!
