11968 Ford Mustang California Special | You are bidding on a true 1968 California Special Mustang with the Marti Report to prove it. Only 4,118 GT/CS’s were built in 1968 and are often referred to as the poor man’s Shelby. These are highly desirable and rare models and are not common. This is a great running West Coast muscle car that drives nice and will be a fun cruiser for you and the family. The body looks to be in good solid shape. The floors and frame rails are clean with just minor surface rust you would expect for its age. It was repainted in 2009. It has some minor chips and scratches you would expect for a car that was driven. There are a couple paint bubbles on the roof pillars. The one quarter has a small area of rust. The hood was replaced after so it will need to be painted to match. The rear taillights and bumper were replaced when it was painted. The front bumper and door handles appear to be originals. The interior is in good shape. The door panels are nice. The seats were redone. The headliner is in good condition. The dash is not warped or cracked. The carpet appears to be original with some age stains. The 289 runs well. It was rebuilt in 2005 to stock specs. The alternator, carburetor, exhaust, and radiator were recently replaced. It also has had a tune up. The C4 Cruise-O-Matic transmission was rebuilt at the same time as the motor. 2.79 Rear makes this a great highway car. The rear taillight harness was just replaced. She has power steering and manual brakes. This ‘stang rides on 225/70/14 Goodyear Eagle ST tires with Magnum 500 wheels. This is a nice driving car and something you can cruise all day long.
