Vehicle Detail
model History1952 chevy suburban carry allIn time, these versatile 2-door vehicles became known as the 'Suburban Carryall' that was subsequently shortened in 1988 to 'Suburban' as an exclusive GM trademark. 'Carryalls' became popular capable of carrying up to 8 passengers in roomy comfort on a 115-inch wheelbase, their luggage behind the seats, and towing a sizable trailer. Removable quick-fastening 2nd and 3rd seats made voluminous capacity for a delivery van. For 1952, the line continued with the rugged inline 6-cylinder engine producing 90 horsepower and either a 3-speed or 4-speed manual transmission available in either of two styles: one with rear doors, the other with lift and tail gates. EnginesThe 1952 Chevy featured a Thriftmaster 216.5-cubic inch or a Loadmaster 235.5-cubic inch, in-line, six-cylinder, valve-in-head engine. The 216.5-cubic inch motor had a bore and stroke of 3.5 by 3.75 inches with a compression ratio of 6.5:1. It generated 90 horsepower at 3,400 rpm. The 235.5-cubic inch engine developed 105 hp at 3,600 rpm with a 6.7:1 compression ratio. It had 193 foot-pounds of torque at 2,000 rpm. ChassisThe 1952 Chevys had front and rear semi-elliptic leaf-springs. The four- or three-speed synchromesh manual transmission had a column-mounted gearshift and used a dry single-plate clutch. The brakes were mechanical expanding-drum types. Steering was by a recirculating worm and ball-nut gear. Up for Auction is a 1952 Chevy Carry All Suburban completely original, a good addition to any collector. This is a pretty neat and rare vehicle complete panel with all the trimmings, try finding one not missing something good luck !!!!. Original 235 6 cylinder engine and it has a 3 speed manual transmission. The motor and transmission were over-hauled . The paint is pretty nice and has a good shine, I would say its driver quality paint and good enough for local car shows and cruises. The seats and dash are in excellent shape. the whole interior has been redone and looks nice. This thing is ready to go and fun to drive. All the lights and turn signals do work. It still has the original heater & has vacuum wipers. It start, runs, drives and handles well. Steering is nice and tight and stays true and straight when driving, brakes are excellent and stops very well........ Please let me know if you have any detailed questions. Vehicle is sold as is no warranty written or implied.
