The Jeep Grand Cherokee Lerado is a great versatile 4 wheel drive SUV that takes on any terrain in any condition. Its short wheel base (distance between front wheels to rear) make this vehicle almost impossible to get stuck in mud, snow, gravel, or ice environments. I did put it to the test, and it passed with flying colors. INTERIOR: Everything works as it should, surprisingly. These vehicles are designed for rough environments, and usually the owners are rough on them. I have seen some that are neglected over time. This particular one was in great shape. The A/C was in great working order. All the windows work, also all the options. I did notice that the airbag light was on, coming from experience these are usually a cheap easy fix. 9 times out of 10, it is a simple sensor or a bad connection. This can be taken care of prior to delivery at your expense, just give us a notice as early as possible. The passenger side rear door panel looked like the adhesive was failing. You can apply contact cement or a strong adhesive and it will take care of this issue, the material is not damaged. EXTERIOR: The body was very impressive as well as the condition of the clear coat. If anything there were very minor scratches on it, no particular place at all. Usually these are dented with major scratches and scuffs all over them. There is a small ding on the back hatch that I couldn’t even notice until I looked very thoroughly. The tires have a lot of tread left on it. There is on spot above the passenger side rear tire, it is oxidization from the clear coat. This is not major, just cosmetic. Bare metal is not showing so there will not be any rust issues. Also, I was happy to see that there was no rust! MOTOR/HANDLING: This jeep was put to the test as you can see in the pictures, the 4 wheel drive works effortlessly. Very easy to engage all the options and it climbed a steep hill like it was nothing. The brakes also work great as it held its position on the hill. Driving on the road was just as great. Getting up to speed without any hesitation and shifting very smooth. The steering was very responsive just as well as the acceleration. This is the ultimate 4 wheel drive machine made for incline and decline and climbing. The suspension was quite with no squeaking or sagging. The engine fires right up, and is actually quite, usually jeeps have a loud idle, but not this one. The inline 6 cylinder is known to be “bulletproof” and this one is. The straight 6 is great for torque and has plenty or power, you are not sacrificing gas millage either by having a V8. The engine actually looks very clean! Shown in the pictures there are no leaks around the gaskets on the head and block. This is a solid Jeep. Knowing what these vehicles are used for, some of these are rode hard and they can withstand such a beating, but this is the one that has been lightly used will last a very long time. I would drive this to California if I was given the opportunity to. Keep in mind that 130k miles is very low for a Jeep, and especially low for a 96. Jeep does not change their style much, so this looks similar to a 2003. This generation is becoming more and more popular, be ahead of society and get yours now. This is very comfortable for passengers, easy on your wallet for gas and maintenance, and has room for a lot of cargo. This is made to take everything you have, and anywhere you want it. For what it is, this is worth a lot to most people. What is it worth to you? I am selling this Grand Cherokee on my lot for $2995 with a MD inspection, we got a good deal on it.
