Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1970 Triumph GT6+. I purchased this car several months ago for restoration. You know the story... I have gathered tons of new and used parts to aid in its return to the road. I came upon this car up in northern California. It was a pickers dream. Several old British cars shoe-horned into a back yard with several sheds full of parts. My kind of place! Well, I bought the car and after a couple hours of extracting it from its 30+ year resting place, I got the story from the owner. He is an older German gentleman who just had too much stuff. His son was making great efforts to thin the collection and they both drove a hard bargain for this car. I was told that it is an original California car (supported by the blue plate and '76 registration sticker) and that the car had been sitting in that very spot since 1976. I was very pleased to find that there is almost zero rust anywhere on this car. The rockers are rock solid. The sills are solid. The trunk floor is rust free. The floor pans are rust free. The only sign of repair is in the battery tray. It was glassed in. The frame is dead straight. No signs of accidents or repairs anywhere in the metal work. All of the body lines are consistent and the shut lines are nearly perfect. Yes, the car does need quite a bit of work to restore it, but you will have a very solid platform in which to start with no signs of the enemy (rust) to be found. I did quite a bit of the deconstruction already. The interior was in the car when I got it, but the amount of rat droppings and traces made me remove it asap. Upon closer inspection, I also discovered that this was, at some point, an overdrive car. It does not have an OD trans in it, instead was replaced by the standard non-OD trans. It also has a MK1 engine in it. Although it runs very strong, it is not correct to the car. In the auction you will see a MK2 engine that is correct for the car. It has compression and is complete, save for carbs and alternator. I have a MK2 exhaust manifold that I had ceramic coated, both will come with the car (see pic) I have new rear brake kits (hardware, shoes, lines, cylinders, etc) new front brake lines, pads. New engine and trans mounts, I installed an aluminum radiator, new water pump and all new hoses on the car before I got it running. I rebuilt the carbs, and the car idles well, but the carbs could use some minor tuning. New feul pump as well. I got the engine running to assess its condition only. Currently the gas tank is out of the car, but it has been boiled out and repainted. Ready to install. The original steering wheel is in the car, as well as all of the gauges, fans, duct work, etc. The seats are in storage and are functional and included in the sale. They will need upholstery. I also have a couple of extra milk crates full of trim pieces, all of the exterior lighting and reflectors. All of the glass and chrome is in better than average condition. The car is nearly complete. Missing only some interior trim pieces that were eaten away over the years. A complete used wire harness comes with the car as well. Also, a complete bonnet (in addition to the one on the car) comes with if you want it. It is complete but damaged. Please email me with any questions. There are tons of parts for this car, so bring a truck and trailer. Best of luck. I have rebuilt the brake master. It has a new clutch slave and master installed in the car. No fluid has been added yet. The car will be sold with a bill of sale only. The title was lost in the sea of parts years ago. I can store the car for an agreed amount of time after the sale as long as the payment requirements are met. $300.00 Deposit due within 24 hours. Full payment due within 5 days of auctions end. I will accept cash in person or cashiers check or bank transfer. The cashiers check will be held for clearance by my bank for 5 days. The car can not leave before funds have cleared. Thanks for understanding.
