Vehicle Detail
1954/56 Ford F100 Custom Cab 440 HP Mopar DriveTrainCustom built in the early 70's We found this really cool one of a kind truck tucked away in storage here in California . When we purchased her she was pretty much complete and in a similar condition as shown in the pictures. We noticed right away that in her prime she must have been king of the road as some one put a lot of love in her. All we had to do is put in a battery and some gas and she fired right up. After we got her home on the trailer we drained all her fluids and gave her a proper tune up with all new wires, Spark plugs, Exhaust gaskets , intake gaskets, Fuel pump , fuel lines ,belts, and a new carburetor (the original was already gone when we found her). The entire drive train is a low milage numbers matching 1969 Charger R/T 440 HP Magnum engine , 727 Transmission , and 8 3/4 Sure Grip limited slip rear end. The drive train is complete Mopar even has the factory k member and rear suspension w/ traction bars. The engine has original 70's Cal Customs Finned Valve Covers and Cal Customs Finned Scoop . It also has a factory Mopar Aluminum 4 barrel intake. The full length headers go into new dual 3" Cherry bomb Exhaust which originally had dual 2.5" cherry bombs but we replaced them since it was old. The truck also has the original 440 R/T 150 mph Speedo retro fitted in the factory instrument cluster. The drive train is very solid and I believe that what the speedo reads at 70,000 miles is the original mileage. The engine runs cool as it has a New High efficiency 5 core radiator. We also replaced the Power Steering pump as the original was leaking. The Wheels are Late 60's Ansen Sprint Mags , they have been fitted with brand new Cooper Radial TA's with the white letters out the way we found her. The Body is a 1956 Ford F100 Custom Cab but has been placed on a 1954 Chassis if you notice in the pictures the fuel fill is located on the Driver side rear lower quarter like all pre 56's. The body very rust free as you can see in the pictures and the doors and panels are very very solid , you don't find them like this very often. The body was left the way we found it with great Patina but was recently re shot with the same House of Colors Lapis Blue the original was. Almost all the chrome is original so its not perfect but it still looks great. The interior is in amazing shape. The seats are original 1965 Mustang Buckets with original condition. The Armrest are out of a 1969 Charger and it has custom built door panels and center console with Shifter. The Radio is an early 8-Track Player and some sort of Equalizer , it does work so if you have an old collection of 8-tracks its time to dust them off! All the interior is exactly how we found it we just cleaned and repainted the dash. This was a very well built truck and the quality was high for the time. The Bed has new Oak wood and Polished Stainless Steel Strips as the old ones were damaged from it being used as storage space. We have a Clear California Title (Which is attached to the Chassis so it is titled as a 1954 ) with matching VIn and 1965 Black Plates the truck is currently on a non-op so there are no fees to be paid. This truck it is very solid and runs unbelievably strong, it is not perfect by any means but that is part of the reason we left it alone without changing to much of its history. I believe it marks a period in time when custom trucks were surfacing out of the hot rod and muscle car era for the first time. With all the original condition parts used from the 69' Charger R/T and 65 Mustang it reminds us of the time we could go to any wrecking yard and pick all this stuff up for pennies and your only real limitations were your imagination. This is truly a one of a kind and would be great for any Hot Rodder , Nostalgist , or Mopar fan! If you have any questions please ask. If you would like to view the truck in person please contact us to schedule a time. We can also help arrange for shipping and delivery of vehicle if needed.
