Vehicle Detail
This car is a wonderful example of a driver quality collectible. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt within the last 2k miles, with papers to prove it. Tranny has a mild shift kit that makes the shifts nice and crisp. The engine was rebuilt to stock specs sans a double roller timing chain. It was painted and installed with new GN1 valve covers, 10mm spark plug wires and a hard mass air flow pipe that replaced the old dryer hose. Also installed was a hooker header exhaust with headers. In addition there is an adjustable fuel pressure gauge to compliment the walboro 255 in the tank. The A/C compressor is new at the time of the rebuild and blows cold on the hottest of Florida days. Other than that the car remains as it drove off the assembly line. Tires are 60% and not dry rotted or cracked. The wheels have a little bit of rust but look great from 20 feet. The interior is in excellent shape as well. I just had new seat covers ordered and installed. They look just like the factory material and fit perfect. The carpet looks outstanding and not sure if it has been replaced or not. The center console is also in impeccable shape. Even the hinge on the armrest is still intact. The only thing not original is the shifter. It is a machined aluminum piece that has Buick Grand National etched into it. The car has all the options for a 1987 Grand National. If you are looking to make a very nice car this will be a great base. There is virtually zero rust in the t top area and the doors, which is the main culprit to g-body's. The quarters and trunk areas are clean as well. Only the c pillar on the passenger side has a very minute area of bubbling, the size of a quarter. This is a very easy fix. The rear bumper filler has been replaced at some point and was not painted. It is black so I am assuming it was a fiberglass unit but have not inspected it any closer. The previous owner had new door hinges and pins installed to resolve the saggy door and hard closing problems these cars experience. There is no need to slam the door anymore with this done, it closes like a new car. I have put a thousand miles on this car and have had zero issues out of it. It rides and drives tight for the year and mileage. I have a lot of original paperwork with the car as well. From the owners manual to the first registration showing its Florida heritage. All the work done was by local shops and I will gladly give numbers so a perspective buyer can talk to them about the builds. Flaws: The car will need a new driver side bumper filler but if it meets the reserve I will buy and install one. Paint is very oxidized and will need a complete respray to be show quality.
