1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt Tribute Click here to view all of the photos. This 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 is built up as a strip-ready Thunderbolt tribute. The engine is a built 429 V8 with 900CFM Holley carb producing 380 HP at the wheels (see the youtube video here), the transmission is a 3-speed automatic with B&M shifter. The fiberglass hood mimcs the original Thunerbolt hoods and the inboard headlights have been removed to make a functional air intake like the original Thunderbolts. The car is a functional race car with racing seats, five-point harnesses, roll cage, fuel cell, trunk-mounted battery and custom dash. The wheels are polished Weld Racing wheels with BF Goodrich tires in excellent condition with 90% tread. Manual drum brakes and manual steering. The seller had a reserve of $30,000 but sold it below value. It was built about 8 years ago from a California original car by a gentleman in Mineral Wells, TX. The car is rust-free and clean underneath. The trim is in good condition. Everything on the car is functional and ready to race. I would feel comfortable driving this car 100+ MPH today.
