Vehicle Detail

Nice, Mild Custom 1967 Caddy Deville Convertible Up For Auction With NO RESERVE 130k original miles, 429 V8 rated at 325 hp. I bought the Caddy in from an older gentleman in Connecticut who did a "light restore" on the Caddy in 2005. He had the car painted a nice modern metallic shade of goldish brown (depending on the sunlight), had a new top put in with new pads, weatherstripping well liner and glass back window. Most importantly of all is he had the both the engine and transmission rebuilt, the drivetrain has under 10,000 miles on it. When the engine was rebuilt all the externals were replaced as well; generator, a/c compressor, carburetor, water pump, distributor, etc. I had the service records for the Caddy when I bought it but I cannot find the folder. Less than a year after he did all the work he lost his storage and his health, which led to the Caddy sitting under a tarp for 5 years in his backyard until I bought it in Spring 2010. He owned it since the late 70's and told me the mileage is original. My mechanic told me it looks like the original mileage considering the overall condition. I've put about 6000 miles on the Caddy since I've had it. Mechanical: since I've had the Caddy I've done a new (rebuilt) carburetor, new brake lines and cylinders, new radiator and hoses, Pertronix electronic ignition and Accel coil, air shocks in the rear and KYB gas shocks in the front, replaced many front end components and new belts and a full tuneup. The original AM/FM radio and antenna still work, the aftermarket stereo in the glove box plays through two rear speakers and a subwoofer with separate amp in trunk. The a/c compressor turns on but does not blow cold. The two rear power windows work, the two front windows are easily moved up and down by hand. The windows can have new motors put it, I never bothered. Usually the Caddy is in the garage with the windows and top down and boot cover on. The power top works well, no assistance needed. I have added modern 20" chrome wheels by using adapters, nothing on the wheel hub was changed. I spent over $3000 on the rim/tire combo with the adapters. You can easily bring the Caddy back to a stock look- I'll include 2 sets of hubcaps, one set is the original 67 set and the other came with the car, a set from a '62 Deville, very stylish. The 20" wheels with these adapters will fit any full size Caddy or GM (Buick, Pontiac, Olds, etc). I added Patriot sidepipes for the exhaust but that is also easily changed back to original, the pipes from the engine to under the car are still stock. The Caddy sounds GREAT through the sidepipes! Cosmetic: The interior has held up the best of all the work done as you can see in the pix. I had the seats redone with genuine leather and put in a new carpet. The roof has gotten dry and cracked due to it being stored outside after installation (it keeps the water out for now but will eventually need to be replaced due to seams opening, the glass back window can be reused), and the paint and bumpers have dulled a bit. The rear quarters behind the wheels were patched when the car was painted, only noticeable up close. The chrome on the bumpers is dull but no rust, dents or peeling. The underside of the car is strong, floors and trunk srong and the frame is solid. A good paintjob would really bring her back to life. She's roadworthy, all directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work as well as wipers and horn. Engine always starts easily, even after sitting for a month or two. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly. Runs very strong, 429 V8 moves this big girl with LOTS of power, tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She idles perfectly, shifts smoothly, stops easily and the suspension is luxurious. No leaks, garage floor always dry when I take her out. VIN is F7267519. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well. Nice classic Caddy which will only appreciate in value!
