Vehicle Detail
Chevrolet 3600 Aaron VA 07-2013 Here to sell at auction to the highest or fastest bidder is a 1949 Chevy 3600. I'm told a early Flatbed like this is a lot harder to find than the 1940's-1950's Chevy 3600 pickup 3/4 Ton Trucks. Comes with clear Title and that was last issued in the year 2000. This is a 1949 as verified by the serial # 14GRD3222 and made at Baltimore, MD Maryland GM Plant in April, 1949. Last ran in the year 2003 we were told and the last date on the inspection or registration sticker is 1999 on the window. You can see there are cracks in some of the glass like the rear window, passenger side door window and the drivers outside mirrow. Everything shown on the truck goes with it including the tires on back (there is no battery in there at present) and what we think is the original Key or at least a very old key with GM on it. Miles show 93,619 and we do see it's a GM motor as the motor has a ID # near the carbeurator which says something like GM8885395, but some of those #'s like the 8's may be 6's or 3's - it's hard to read. There is another # stamped or cast on the motor itself on the passenger side of the motor or right side that we think shows something like B39 913 and then 241 below that. We have pictures of that and many more pictures. The person we got this from said the engine is loose and last ran in 2003 and drove and ran normally for a 1949 era truck. He said it should run again with a tune up and new gas. The engine we were told is a 235 6 Cylinder engine. According to Wikipedia: "The Chevrolet 235-cubic-inch is known as one of the great Chevrolet engines, noted for its power and durability. It was gradually replaced by the 230, beginning in 1963." The truck is 17'5" long by 6'3" and the big flat bed on back is 8'7" long by 6'3" wide so this would be a great truck to restore for parades, show, display or to ride around town or in a parade even with a band like the Darlings on back. See the EXAMPLE pictures in the one frame above of some nice restored 1949 era Chevrolet 3600's including that white pickup which was originally a flatbed restored as a pickup from what I read about it. These antique vintage classics are all valued in the $20,000-$30,000 though most of them are not for sale. Delivery or Pickup: This 1949 Chevy is located in friendly Winchester, VA 22603 and if needed we can help with delivery if over 500 miles for just .70 to $1/mile one way. If a shorter distance than that it will be a little more so email or call for a quote, or bring your trailer to haul it yourself. Our office # if questions is (512) 57 3 -- 835 9 at our Nashville, TN location where we are headquartered, and we have 2-3 Midwest tractor and several other locations we work with like here in VA as part our business, The Tractor Barn. On Jul-16-13 at 06:47:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone asked for pictures of the truck bed so am posting what we have now. Along with some more pictures of the dash. The truck bed shots basically show the 2 older tires in back along with some old wood side siding or side boards of some sort. As I mentioned in the update description note yesterday the wood floor of the bed will need to be replaced as it's probably original and has some holes in the wood floor. We have lifted the floor mats and the floor is really overall solid except for that one smaller hole or spot on the passenger side about where the passengers right foot would be. Rest of the floorboard looks to be solid and good.
