Vehicle Detail
A powerful 1989 Jaguar XJS Convertible that has swapped out its original V-12 engine in favor of an ultra-reliable GM L-98 V-8 350 cubic inch engine. The L-98 was the engine used in Corvettes from 1985 through 1992. The engine always starts on the first turn of the key, and runs nice and cool even in hot weather. A new water pump was just installed. New valve cover gaskets and intake manifold gaskets have been installed. The engine runs beautifully and is quite smooth at all speeds. The automatic transmission is smooth and responsive, and shifts perfectly. The front brake pads are almost new, and the car stops on a dime as it should. The inboard brakes on the original Jaguar rear end work perfectly. New upper control arm bushings have just been installed as a maintenance update on the car. The car very recently passed the Virginia safety and emissions inspections with no problems at all. The temperature, water, gas, battery, speedometer and tachometer gauges all work fine. The coolant temperature sensor and sender on the engine are both newly installed. The cigarette lighter receptable has been replaced and works fine for hooking up accessory charging devices. The battery is brand new. The air conditioning (A/C) has recently been serviced, and a new A/C fan relay was installed. The A/C blows nice and cold. The heater works very well also. Fresh headlamps have been installed to ensure reliability. The electric windows roll up and down fine, and the electric seat controls work as well. The paint is black with metallic cherry. It is not a show paint job, but is quite good. It is shiny and beautiful, and polishes up nicely. The tires and custom chrome rims are basically brand new. The black convertible top is almost new and shows no signs of wear at all. The top is upholstered on the inside, and is not just bare canvas. It is a high quality, expensive top which matches the car. It is a perfect fit and does not leak in the rain. It has a glass window in the back. The bumpers are in good shape. The interior is burgundy and matches the black with metallic cherry paint very nicely. The leather seats and door panels are original and are still quite good. They have been treated with leather conditioner to keep them soft and pliable. The center console is in nice condition and has no cracks or defects. The seat belts work fine. There are no cracks in the dash. It is in perfect condition. The burl wood grain insets on the dash and on the ski slope are the nicely preserved originals and are in very good condition. A more recent digital AM/FM radio has been installed and works great. Overall, the car runs fantastic and presents well with the black and cherry metallic paint and burgundy interior. The L-98 engine brings an extra measure of power and reliability to the package. The car is a pleasure to own and drive. It is ready to go mechanically and cosmetically and will provide years of driving pleasure. An original jack and spare come with the car. Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
