Up for bid is a 1939 Ford Standard Business Coupe. It has received a body-off, ground up restoration and has been driven approximately 200 miles since completion. The original 85 horsepower 221 cubic inch V8 has been completely rebuilt by master engine builder Bill Coleman of the famed Coleman Brother's Speed Shop. It has been bored 30 thousandths over, fitted with new pistons, rings, bearings, rebuilt rods, turned crankshaft, block decked, new Isky Max 1 cam (mild), adjustable lifters, new valves, guides, springs, keepers, new oil pump, new water pumps and it has been balanced. It has an Offenhauser dual intake manifold with two Ford 94s. Presently, the rear carb is blocked off. Headers and dual exhaust have been fitted. The original intake and exhaust manifolds are included along with the original air filter. The transmission has been completely rebuilt using NOS or NORS gears, shafts, bearings, washers, new synchros and the shift tower has been rebuilt. New clutch. The rear is the original 3.78 ratio, with tube shocks fitted. All new brakes, lines, hoses, hydraulics. New wiring harness and all electrical components are new or rebuilt. NOS front axle, Posie's reversed eye front spring, new king pins, perches and fitted with tube shocks. New tie rod ends and steering drag link. Rebuilt wiper motor. New tires and tubes (600-16 front, 6.50-16 rear), NOS hubcaps. All chrome and stainless redone or new. NOS headlight lenses. LeBaron-Bonney interior. Everything works except the horn. New glass, seals and channels. New Drake runningboards. New radiator and gas tank. The body was stripped to bare metal and refinished in original Cloud Mist Gray (greenish-gray). I have a clear, matching Maryland title, in my name. The mileage is listed at 42,102. That was the mileage on the old speedometer. I have replaced it with a NOS speedometer, so consider the actual mileage to be unknown. I urge all bidders to inspect the car before auction ends. Please, no trades, I'm trying to downsize.
