This vehicle was restored by the original owner in the late 1990's, but until 2006 it was stored outdoors causing the frame to be very rusty with rust throughout the frame rails. However, many of the other components are in "good" to "very good" condition. The vehicle has not been run in several years but was in running condition when it was taken from its outside storage location and moved indoors in 2006. So even though the engine and transmission are believed to be sound, the vehicle should be considered non-operational. Moreover, the vehicle should not be operated until a thorough inspection is performed and frame repairs or replacement are accomplished. This Studebaker, mated with a good frame and some patch panels, would be a great candidate for restoration. It represents a treasure trove of several thousand dollars worth of parts as many were replaced during the original restoration and remain in good condition. These include (see the pictures) very valuable and hard to find window glass, body panels, chrome, hubcaps, seats, instruments, and so on that can be of immeasurable help to a restorer of the same or similar vehicle. In addition, the trunk contains several boxes of additional used parts. We believe we have represented the Studebaker as accurately as possible in the many photographs of the problem areas as well as the descriptive listing. However interested parties are encouraged to ask questions and/or schedule a personal inspection. This vehicle is offered as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. It has a valid Pennsylvania title which will be transferred to the new owner upon successful completion of the transaction. Shipping and transportation of the car are the responsibility of the new owner. We will gladly work with you or the shipper/transporter of your choice to coordinate the move. The new owner will have two weeks from the completion of the auction to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made in advance. Payment may be in the form of cash, money order or cashier’s/bank check. If the car is not picked up within this time frame (and other satisfactory arrangements are not made), we then reserve the right to charge a storage fee for the vehicle based on the local going rate. The car is not for sale outside of eBay and the auction will not be ended early.
