IN THE MIDWEST SOUTH DAKOTA CARS WERE SOUGHT AFTER BECAUSE THE STATE DID NOT USE SALT AND CHEMICALS ON THEIR HIGHWAYS. IDAHO, HOWEVER, IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN THE USA WHEN IT COMES TO THE PROPER CLIMATE TO PRESERVE OUR CARS AND TRUCKS. WHERE I LIVE WE ONLY GET AN AVERAGE OF SIX TO EIGHT INCHES OF MOISTURE PER YEAR. NOW AFTER 70 PLUS YEARS I AM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU THAT THIS CAR IS “RUST FREE.” BUT IT IS ALL THERE AND IT APPEARS THE FLOOR BOARDS, FENDERS, TRUNK LID, HOOD, DOORS, AND BODY CAN BE USED WITHOUT REPLACING ANY OF THE PANELS. THE RUST THAT I SEE IS SURFACE AND YOU ALSO CAN SEE IT FROM THE PICTURES. THIS CADILLAC IS A RECENT BARN FIND. A LOCAL INDIVIDUAL CONTACTED ME AND BEGGED ME TO COME AND LOOK AT HIS FATHER’S CADILLAC. WHEN I FINALLY DID GET TO LOOK AT THE CAR I COULD NOT PASS IT UP. PERSONALLY I THOUGHT THE GRILLE WAS IN SUCH BEAUTIFUL SHAPE THAT IT ALONE WAS WORTH THE MONEY. 90%+ OF ALL EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR PIECES NOT SHOWN IN THE PICTURES WILL COME WITH THE VEHICLE. YOU CAN SEE BY THE PICTURES THAT THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION IS MISSING. THIS IS A ROLLER AND DOES NOT RUN! I DON’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THESE CARS OF THIS VINTAGE, HOWEVER, IF ANYONE NEEDS MORE INFORMATI0N OR PICTURES I WOULD BE HAPPY TO ANSWER WHAT QUESTIONS I CAN AND/OR SEND YOU MORE PICTURES. I HAVE THE ABILITY TO GET THE CAR ON A HOIST AND GET YOU THE DETAIL PICTURES YOU WANT. SUPER COMPLETE CAR IN VERY NICE CONDITION. JUST AS A NOTE THE WHEELBASE ON THIS CADILLAC AND THE TRACK WIDTH IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS A CHEVROLET AVALANCHE. MY FIRST INSTINCTS WERE TO CONVERT THE CAR TO A MODERN DRIVE TRAIN. I CURRENTLY HAVE SEVEN CARS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND COMMON SENSE TELLS ME I SHOULD JUST SELL THIS PROJECT. IN 1987 I MOVED FROM SOUTH DAKOTA TO IDAHO. IN THE MIDWEST SOUTH DAKOTA CARS WERE SOUGHT AFTER BECAUSE THE STATE DID NOT USE SALT AND CHEMICALS ON THEIR HIGHWAYS. IDAHO, HOWEVER, IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN THE USA WHEN IT COMES TO THE PROPER CLIMATE TO PRESERVE OUR CARS AND TRUCKS. WHERE I LIVE WE ONLY GET AN AVERAGE OF SIX TO EIGHT INCHES OF MOISTURE PER YEAR. NOW AFTER 70 PLUS YEARS I AM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU THAT THIS CAR IS “RUST FREE.” BUT IT IS ALL THERE AND IT APPEARS THE FLOOR BOARDS, FENDERS, TRUNK LID, HOOD, DOORS, AND BODY CAN BE USED WITHOUT REPLACING ANY OF THE PANELS. THE RUST THAT I SEE IS SURFACE AND YOU ALSO CAN SEE IT FROM THE PICTURES.
THIS CADILLAC IS A RECENT BARN FIND. A LOCAL INDIVIDUAL CONTACTED ME AND BEGGED ME TO COME AND LOOK AT HIS FATHER’S CADILLAC. WHEN I FINALLY DID GET TO LOOK AT THE CAR I COULD NOT PASS IT UP. PERSONALLY I THOUGHT THE GRILLE WAS IN SUCH BEAUTIFUL SHAPE THAT IT ALONE WAS WORTH THE MONEY. 90%+ OF ALL EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR PIECES NOT SHOWN IN THE PICTURES WILL COME WITH THE VEHICLE. YOU CAN SEE BY THE PICTURES THAT THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION IS MISSING. THIS IS A ROLLER AND DOES NOT RUN! I DON’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THESE CARS OF THIS VINTAGE, HOWEVER, IF ANYONE NEEDS MORE INFORMATI0N OR PICTURES I WOULD BE HAPPY TO ANSWER WHAT QUESTIONS I CAN AND/OR SEND YOU MORE PICTURES. I HAVE THE ABILITY TO GET THE CAR ON A HOIST AND GET YOU THE DETAIL PICTURES YOU WANT. SUPER COMPLETE CAR IN VERY NICE CONDITION. JUST AS A NOTE THE WHEELBASE ON THIS CADILLAC AND THE TRACK WIDTH IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS A CHEVROLET AVALANCHE. MY FIRST INSTINCTS WERE TO CONVERT THE CAR TO A MODERN DRIVE TRAIN. I CURRENTLY HAVE SEVEN CARS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND COMMON SENSE TELLS ME I SHOULD JUST SELL THIS PROJECT.
