Vehicle Detail

1958 VW Volkswagen Classic Beetle Bug, Lowered, Dual Dellorto carburetors. Great color combination. I not exactly sure of the name of the color, but I call the color “Ice Blue”, this car is in really great shape. The body is extremely strait. The paint really shines!! It has been lowered and set up with a great stance. The car is a “Happy” car, everywhere I go people stop to look at the car and comment on it. It makes everyone smile. It really has been restored nicely. This car starts up cold no problem, and starts up again no problem when it’s warmed up. The dual Dellorto carb’s really make it run well! I’m not sure what size the motor is, but it’s at least a 1600 dual port engine. I keep the car garaged. There is a very small drip(s) of oil under it. The car has been converted to a 12 Volt system and has an electronic ignition (NO POINT’s to mess with). I just had a new starter installed. I checked the serial numbers on the pan (under the rear seat, and on the body under the front hood, below the gas tank) and they both match. Per numbers the car was a late 1957 build sold as a 1958 Beetle. Per the serial number on the engine, it appears to be a 1600 dual port engine from the 70’s. Again I’m not sure of the engine build, but it runs strong, and sounds great with its performance exhaust system. The stock heater manifolds have been replaced with headers (so there is no heat system). This would be a fairly easy and inexpensive to fix if you wanted to add heat. Odometer states approximately 22446 miles but actual miles are unknown. The after market fuel gauge does not appear to be accurate, the reverse (back-up) light is not hooked up (I’m not sure the 1958 even had one??) It’s missing the passenger visor, and there is a little surface rust on the wheels. The horn works, but not with the button on the steering wheel rather there is a button under the dash. The roof rack easily comes off if needed, but it really adds to the cars style! It has a nice sound system, with an Alpine deck that is Iphone ready, meaning you can plug your Iphone into the deck via USB and it can easily interface with your phone. It has Rockford Fosgate sub-woofer amp, pioneer 6X9’s , and a sub-woofer box in the rear. The interior upholstery is in great shape, as well is the head-liner. All the lights and blinkers work (except the rear brake light that’s not hooked up, and the interior dome light – could just be just a bulb?). It’s fully carpeted, as well as the trunk. Tires also have lots of tread on them! All the windows work, including the wing windows and the pop-out quarter windows. The driver’s side window is a little stiff rolling it as the felt was just replaced. Most people who see the car say “wow what a beautiful show car!!” , with that said, I’m really picky and although someone might consider it one, and might even show it, I would say it’s a very very nice driver. The paint job really shines, and again it’s a really strait car, with a nice paint job. We take it out to the beach often! It really has a nice paint job, when out we always try to find a parking spot away from other cars so no to get any door dings. The photos of the car really don’t do the car right, as I took them with my camera phone and the sun made some strange shadows etc. The paint does have a very few chips / nicks – remember I drive the car. The car is not perfect, but its one of the best looking classic bug’s that I have seen! This car always gets tons of complements. People are amazed its 55 years old! I know the new owner will take pride of ownership in this classic beetle! It’s a fun car to drive. I will do my best to help assist the shipping of the bug within reason. Meaning I will drive / deliver the car within about 20 miles to help get the car to a transporter / shipper if necessary. The cost of shipping / insurance / customs (if international) etc is the responsibility of the buyer. The bug is registered in California (Black Plate car) until December 2013. All DMV fees, transfer fees, taxes, registration will be the responsibility of the new owner. I have done my best to describe the car the best I can…..Please let me know if you have any additional questions and I will do my best to answer them. I have seen other bugs that did not seem as nice sell for $10,000 to $14,000 and I have no reserve on this auction!!! Deposit of US $1,000.00 within 48 hours of auction close via Paypal. Full payment required within 5 days of auction close. Good luck and thanks for looking!! Seller has the right to cancel listing at any time as it's listed locally for sale
