Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE-1962 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron 413 V8, Push-button automatic, Landau top, Continental kit (of sorts) 4 door, with all top options. Rebuilt Carter carb, and recent tune with new cap/rotor and others. New Master Cylinder, and new rear brakes. Fronts were fine, but the rears needed new seals and the shoes were rather swollen from sitting partially wet with brake fluid, so they were replaced with the wheel cylinders. Aside from the interior, this car is stock and un-adulterated. The roof leather scalloping is original, although a feature more commonly seen on the 61 models, as I was told. The trunklid is also more commonly seen on the early models, but this one was left the coachbuilders with these options. I will add closeup photos of the roof, showing that it was impossible for the dealer to add this, or for it to be aftermarket. One of 1,400 built The previous owner claimed to have bought the car used in Dallas Texas with only 200 miles logged on the odometer, and the interior was already upgraded to this current configuration- even after the car was sold with the originally ordered with the platinum interior package. Interior is NOT factory. Car has been repainted, although was originally black to begin with. Paint looks good and shines up well, but there is minor seperation on the edges of the roof, where it meets the rear deck. These were the finest cars built in the USA at the time, rivaling Cadillac and others in quality and features. Everything in this car is electric. Mirrors, seats, even the vent-wing windows in the doors. For the time, this was pretty advanced. There are two A/C units- the normal optional one under the hood, but there is a second unit in the trunk as well, which airs the rear seated passengers. There is a scalloped landau top that is also shown in the photos, as well as the decklid for the trunk. These were on the '61 models, but were added when the car was ordered, thus my initial mention of added options. I have not seen this on any other '62 Imperial, aside from one other limo version. The car is totally original (minus the interior), and has less than 90,000 miles, and is complete. It runs and stops like it should. It is in Portland for viewing. Delivery available worldwide. I just got done driving this one to a show, and it is a really smooth running, smooth rolling machine. The tires are all brand new. I have the missing lettering for the rear of the car where the gas fill is, as well as wiper arms, the chrome spear for the passenger side rear quarterpanel, the accessory engine speed controller, as well as a few other minor things to complete this fine automobile. More photos will be added this week. Current registration, and clear title in Oregon. Delivery available worldwide. European bidders especially welcomed. Serious interest only by phone (503)841-0239 It came from that dealer with the scalloped roof details, and the trunk lid- and was redone in the red/white material inside by the first owner- So someone bought the finest car built in the USA in 1962, with factory added two options (roof scalloping and rear decklid) to decorate the car, then re-upholstered it from Platinum to the red/white shown in the photos, drove it for 200 miles, then sold it as a used car through the dealer in Dallas to my close Family friend of 75 years. Odd for someone to do all of the work to the interior, then only drive 20 miles in a few years before selling it. The same lady owned it until she was well past 90. If you are overseas, please make sure that you are in a country that will allow for the import and shipping of this car.I will assist in overseas shipping, but it is the buyers responsibility to explore the legality of importing to your home country, as well as the cost incurred. Please refrain from bidding unless you are actually a real buyer. Last minute bid cancellations and non-paying bidders ruin the experience for the real people that are here. I IMPLORE ON YOU TO PLEASE ONLY BID ON THIS IF YOU ARE REAL, ACTUALLY HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY THIS, AND ARE HONORABLE ENOUGH TO FOLLOW THROUGH PLEASE. This is the fourth time re-listing due to flakes and frauds.
