Offered here is the lowest production model Edsel for 1958 - the Bermuda 9-passenger model. Nine passenger is just to indicate that it has the third row of forward seating (see photos). Only 779 of this model was produced - and coincidentaly the VIN number on this one ends in 700779 - which is kind of a nice addition. The car will start and idle, but I believe it needs an oil pump as it overheats quickly. It seems there is not the needed oil circulation. It could be an immediate driver if that problem was addressed. The middle seat floors are completely rusted out (see photos) - however the other areas of the car where rust would be expected have only minimal. The spare tire well is clear. The driver's side floor looks pretty good - and the outside drip panels that almost always contain rust look good. The seats were exposed to weather at one point and will need to be redone. The car comes with what looks to be an original roof rack - very rare. I had taken it off to keep it, but decided to include it with the car. I paid $250 for a similar one myself. They are very hard to come by. The car also features a tachometer - another pricey optuion. The odometer shows 61,472. There is no reserve on the car and a low starting bid as I want it to go to a new home - someone with the time to work on it and who can get into it at a low initial investment. I paid about $7,000 for it 10 years ago (which is neither nor there), and drove it home the 90 miles from San Francisco. (But) I was never able to find the time to restore it - so someone will get a good deal on it this week - at a fraction of my investment. Serious buyers only may phone me at (916) 952-5402.
