Vehicle Detail

I can't believe I'm doing this...Need to make room in my garage for a new BMW bike and I'm truly rolling the dice here. I'm purchasing a new K1600GT but have always come back to the K1200RS this is number 4 for me...yup. I fix them up just the way I like them, then do something stupid like buy a new bike. Find out it's not for me, then go through the motions of searching for another K1200RS ..I think it would be cheaper for therapy... I'm a BMW fan and have had almost every bike they made. R1200GS Adventure, K1200S K1300S, K1200LT, R1200RT, K1200GT +++ infinitum...They are all great German machines, but I always seem to come back to the mighty BMW K1200RS. It really is the perfect sport touring bike in my humble opinion. I've ridden the K all over the country and have had my best riding on this model....Rode out west to death Valley via LA, on the east coast. Cruised the blue ridge parkway, and tail of the dragon. Many fond memories. You can ride this bike all day slabbing it to the mountains in perfect comfort , enjoying the cruise control and you're favorite music piped into your helmet via top quality ear plugs and the satellite radio or mp3 via flash card in your Garmin Zumo. Then slay the dragon, or just lay her into some high speed sweepers with some of your best riding buddies. After a day of riding, Check into a local hotel with helmet head, a hot shower, then out to dinner with your friends for cocktails and a hot meal. The following am it's a hot cup of joe, load the bikes and it all starts again. Those of you who ride know exactly what I'm talking about. And for those of you who have a lot of commitments with soccer, base ball etc, just throwing a leg over , your favorite leather jacket and an early am Sunday ride for a cup of coffee with your buds, or just. To pick up bagels for the family. It's a great start to a day. The engine is the best to date. Twins are nice, but buzzy, the K1200 engine is so smoooooth and really has no flat spots, plenty of torque, and HP. This bike was made for the autobahn.. The only complaint I'd have for this bike is the stock headlight. You can outrun it. but I've addressed the issue with a true HID headlight. Not just a bulb but it has a ballast and she will light up the trees at night, waking up the birds... This bike comes with a Full Staintune Exhaust, HID lighting very bright as I mentioned, Machined Billet gas cap, Garmin Zumo GPS with satellite radio ( If you choose buy it now) and hidden antenna for satellite , a very loud dual horn to wake up zombies and texting motorists, LED flashing super bright rear brake light ( It goes from a fast pulse to a solid red for maximum visibility), a full Ohlin front and rear suspension ($3,500), new adjustable brake and clutch levers, heated hand grips, and cruise control.... There are other options, just too many to list or remember... The bike has new tires front and rear, fresh oil change. Brake Fluid was also changed. Not because it was needed, but because I'm a fanatic... 2013 New York state inspection... This bike has always sat inside a climate controlled garage, adult owned...but no chicken stripes!!! Lets get that clear... Never dropped. Well by me.. Prior owner dropped it in driveway. This is the ultimate sport tourer in my humble opinion...It's my fourth RS... Don't ask.. I just spent over $24/k on a new K1600GT and for approx 1/4 of a new 1600 you are getting one incredible machine! I know the new owner is going to love this bike,,And if I didn't have so many toys in the garage I'd keep it....It's a great deal and value... If you use the buy it now price, I'll throw in the GPS, bag liners, and hard bags... Hard bags are ok. Side with exhaust touched the pipe...Prior owner did not install correctly and it melted the inside of the bag. Common with the newbies and this is the way I got the bike... I put duct tape on the inside so no issues, and the bag liners will protect your clothing 100%...The liners are new, and If I didn't have the new K1600GT on order I'd search for a case on ebay, craigs list etc to make the bike perfect..., But thats me..Mr OCD here... Good luck bidding!
