Vehicle Detail
Rare 1977 Lincoln Mark V Designer Series Cartier Edition With NO RESERVE Rare Cartier edition with Gray leather quarter top (leather pattern) and "astro-roof" moonroof. Original miles, 460 V8. Options include power moonroof, quarter windows that lower and raise before main window, working 8-track, tilt steering wheel, remote trunk release and automatic dimming headlights. The Cartier clock still works, modern Sony stereo in dash. A common misconception is the Cartier Clock on the Dash indentifies a Mark V as a Cartier Designer Edition, but the clock is standard on all Lincoln Mark V's.A quick check of the Opera window will confirm whether the Mark is a Cartier Edition, the name "Cartier" appears in the glass. Here's a page describing the features of the 77 Cartier Edition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Continental_Mark_V#Cartier I bought the Lincoln about two years ago as a light restoration project and now selling due to lack of time and funds. Mechanical: full tuneup, disc brakes all around, alternator, new passenger side exhaust manifold gasket as well as more minor maintenance items.I had the passenger door window motor replaced and somehow my my mechanic misplaced the armrest, he didn't charge me for the job due to the loss but the door will need a new armrest, switches still work for seat and window. I'm now selling due to financial constraints, over $7k invested. Mechanical attention the Mark needs is a belt on the a/c compressor and a freon charge, all parts seem to be in working order and just need to be hooked up (compressor spins freely). The speedometer cable stripped out a couple of months back which stopped the cruise control working, parts and labor under $100. The driver's seat needs a new switch or motor, it does not move. As this is a no reserve auction, someone is going to get a great price on a classic that just needs some TLC to be gorgeous. Cosmetics: the interior is very nice, the gray leather has been reupholstered at some point on the front and back seats and feels buttery. Window motors (including small power quarter windows), headlight doors, and moonroof works perfectly. Moonroof could use a new seal, slight dripping in heavy rain and car wash (nothing too bad) and has the sliding shade that can be closed as well. The vinyl top has a nice grain pattern, it's close to perfect, looks like new. The paint is dirty in the pix and although original will shine up well with a nice was and wax. Nice, Classic Rare Lincoln which is a pleasure to drive as well to look at. Restore as you drive or just enjoy as is. No reserve, so good luck bidding.. Engine starts easily, cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road effortlessly with no wandering. Runs very strong and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She idles perfectly, shifts smoothly, stops easily and the suspension is luxurious. Drives overall like an American luxury cruiser should, it handles well considering its size. All directional/brake/turn signal/headlights, wipers and horn all work. VIN is 8Y89A955213 Nice classic Lincoln which will only appreciate in value!
