This is my Thunderbird SC. I am the original owner, however the title does not reflect so. I leased this car in late 1990 from Ford Motor Company. I did not drive the car much due to the nature of my job, so in 1994 only having 19000 miles on the odometer I decided to purchase the car rather than turn it in at the end of the lease.Although I did not order this car, it was a left over with every available option at the time. It presents very well today as it did from the first day I took delivery. It has been garaged since I took ownership.Although there have been no major issues with the car, Ford did replace the supercharger under warranty in 1996 @ around 57,000 miles according to my records. They also replaced the rear end gears also under warranty. I never complained to them about these issues, however these items were changed for whatever reason they deemed fit.This vehicle has had routine maintenance every 3,000 miles and no expense has been spared for preventive care. This car has been driven with enthusiasm so preventive maintenance was always a priority.In 2000, @ around 100,000 miles, the motor was rebuilt by Tommy Bug Motors in Brooklyn NY. It was rebuilt to spec and had a new clutch installed. The A/C was also updated to the R34. It is still completely stock today.During the last 13 years the car has been parked in the garage and it now has around 133,000 miles. A recent addition has been a set of Yokohama Avid V4S tires . I have also installed new rear Tokico shocks, and KVR ceramic brakes with new cross drilled rotors. These new additions have all been done within the last 3,000 miles.Recently I have detected a valve cover gasket leak, nothing major but it has to be addressed eventually. Also the A/C has stopped working. When freon is cycled through the compressor it does kick on. I have checked for leaks but could not detect any. I would suspect that the leak is in the evaporator under the dash. I am not a mechanic, but that is what I conclude. I have not had the time to get the vehicle down to my mechanic. Also the door ajar light is on due to the seat belt not retracting. The shoulder belt had to be put in the fixed rear position as it would no longer retract.In conclusion this is a nice car. The paint is acceptable and makes a nice presentation. There are 2 dime size dings on the hood and roof that does not show unless it is pointed out. The interior has normal wear including a tear on the right side drivers bolster, a common wear issue with these cars. I will help in the facilitation of the shipping and will store the car till the new owner is ready to pick up as long as there is a generous deposit. The vehicle is also available to view before purchase. Auto check acknowledges that there is 1 owner on this vehicle, yet they have documented that the vehicle is for sale at an auction somewhere in New England. They also have down that the mileage after 3 years is @ 139,000. AS I said I leased this car then purchased it @ 19,000 miles. Who in their right mind would purchase a car with that kind of mileage ? This vehicle has been in my constructive possession for 24 years and has never been operated by anyone but myself. Also please note that most transactions back in the early 90's were hand written and not computerized, so there must be a mistake as to mileage associated with my vehicle's VIN. I have had past experience with auto check and car fax and they are not always accurate.
