This auction is for a very rare example of a police 4wd Ramcharger. Originally purchased by the California Highway Patrol, this Ramcharger served the patrol in both the Fresno and Fort Tejon area offices. Included with the Ramcharger are all of its service records since new. Literally dozens of pages of detailed records, including a new dealer replaced engine late in its service life. Amazingly, this Ramcharger ended its service in excellent condition-no rust, wearing most of its original paint and a very nice original interior. It retains its original CHP switch panel, spotlights, roll bar, extra heavy duty front bumper and front and rear red spot lights. A very difficult to find, original winch is still in place and functional(with included controller). All spots work. Much work has also been done since the mighty Ram left service. New brakes, new cat converter, rear exhaust, new front springs, water pump, radiator, belts, complete tune up, services up to date, etc. The AC and everything else is functional and ready to return to duty. The body is very straight and damage free, the interior still features the police rubber flooring and a crack free dash. All lights work, as do the wipers, etc. Currently, the Ramcharger has all of its CHP regalia re-installed(door stars, lettering, rear lettering,etc). It is ready for police vehicle shows, benefits and car shows. It is always a huge crowd favorite at the shows and with CHP officers. Of course, the emblems must be covered and red lights disconnected to travel on California highways. The Ramcharger runs well and easily passed Californa smog. It is currently registered and insured in California. Included with the Ram is an assortment of police equipment that can be re-installed by the buyer. Included is radio gear, mounts, an NOS set of original hubcaps,push bumper rubbers, notepad mount and shotgun mounts. While this Ramcharger is in great condition and ready to drive now, it isn't perfect. The original paint, as you might expect, does have nicks, scratches, etc. The headliner needs to be replaced and to be totally original a set of the stock steel wheels(easily sourced at low cost) should be installed. Thats about it. I have begun to downsize my collection a bit and that's the only reason I'm selling. I'll be retaining the personalized plates.
