Re-listing with lower reserve: 1983 Jeep CJ-7 Up for sale/auction is my 1983 Jeep CJ-7 with hardtop. 4.2 L, in-line six cylinder engine. 4WD. Five speed manual transmission. 188,900 miles. Dana 30 front axle. AMC 20 rear axle. We are not cigarette smokers. Lightly restored as the original didn’t need much except for cosmetic tune-ups. Fresh paint and striping. Paint color is American Motors Copper Brown. Paint job is very good but I wouldn’t say perfect. Pictures don’t show, but a very close look will reveal some “orange peel” affect in the clear coat. There is no external rust. I included a close-up picture of a defect in the paint below the driver's door. I also include a close up picture of dash/gauge cluster where you can observe a small spot of interior rust below the front window cowl. I did not repaint the interior. Runs and drives well. Starts and runs as it should without any issues. No engine smoking or oil leaks. Absolutely beautiful jeep. Jeep has been stored inside since completion. Never in the rain, snow, or on salty roads. Clean and clear title in hand. Note most exterior pictures where taken last summer after project completion. The last 5-6 photos were taken today. The tow hooks were added over the winter. I have included one picture taken today showing the chrome tow hooks. I purchased the Jeep in March of 2012. An older gentleman in Kansas City, MO had it. He told me he always kept in the garage and had owned it since '09. The vehicle history report showed it originated in Idaho. My 15 year old son and I worked on it together. It was going to be his daily driver, but he has now decided he doesn't want a Jeep...kids?! I hate to get rid of it, but cannot justify keeping it for myself as another toy. I require deposit money to be in the form of bank certified funds (i.e. Cashiers Check). Deposit will be non-refundable. No Paypal. Remainder of balance due: I require this within 1 week of auction close. Remainder due will be in the form of bank certified funds or cash. If I do not receive this as specified, I will keep the deposit and re-list the item for sale again. Pre-purchase Inspection: I will be happy to allow and encourage pre-purchase inspection of vehicle. However, if you are the winning bidder you will be expected to pay full amount within 1 week of auction close as specified above. Don’t expect to show up and then inspect the jeep and test drive, etc. before paying. When cash is in my hand, Jeep and title go into yours. I value positive feedback on eBay.
