No Reserve!!! The above spec information was given by the first owner of the car. The car was built up by this individual and all the modifications on the car where done by this individual. All jobs such as the paint, shave door conversion, conversion from manual to electric windows, sound system, etc. were done by professionals. The specifications of the motor and transmission are from original owner when it was sold. The car was sold to a friend of mine about 5 years ago. Although it was purchased in perfect running condition, at the time he did not have the time and/ or money to get it the exact way he wanted so for the most part it sat in his driveway for about a year. A little after the first time i saw it he agreed to sell it to me. I hoped it could be somewhat of a project car for me even tho it pretty much already had a lot done to it already. The only main thing i thought i needed to get done to the car was to redo the interior and possibly the dash. Also the bumper fillers had cracked and i was planning on buying a new fiberglass set. Besides that everything was working good and didn't need much done. The day i purchased the car i was able to drive it home on the freeway. Of course you could upgrade a few things here in there for personal taste or preference. As i said this was going to be more of a hobby car so i continued in my everyday car while i researched things to do to the car as it sat in the driveway. Soon the months went by and i hadn't been able to really drive it at all. I wanted different things done to it and it being my first hobby car and not knowing too much about cars, i did not realize the amount of time, money and energy was needed to have a classic older car like this. Things ended up getting away from me and after about a year and half i made the stupid mistake of leaving it idle for several months without regularly starting it. Since purchasing it i had no problems at all starting the car, but after leaving it, suddenly i was unable to start it. The battery had drained, when i had charged it was able to start it. It was fine for a while but shortly after again the battery had died. This time when i went to go to recharge they said the battery was no longer taking a charge and was no good. The original battery the car came with was a yellow top Optima. I ended up having to purchase a yellow top Duralast. After a few months with no problem, i again was having problems with starting the engine but seemed more with the battery. The battery seems to continue to be drained very quickly and had to go and get charged a couple of times. I continued to try and work on the car and ended up putting in a brand new starter. Had it checked nothing seemed wrong, but bought to be on save side and then was advised could be a problem with the alternator. So i ended up also just buying a brand new alternator. I had success getting it started but again after a while the battery i had was being drained for a reason i couldn't figure out. It was suggested to me it because of all the modifications and all the added electrical components it could be a wiring problem. I have since disconnected all wiring related to the sound system, doors. windows, etc. when trying to start the car and once car starts do not run simultaneously with using other electrical components in the car. For the past year or so i have contemplated what i was going to do and if i personally wanted to invest more time into this project. Me not being a natural car guy seems to make it harder. I'm sure the problems i am having with the car could be easily fixed by many car professionals; i unfortunately can't figure it out myself and don't have the money to invest in this car right now. As much as i love this car and how there is no other one like it out there. How many '82 Buick Riviera's you see out there customized like this and with shaved doors, so unfortunately i have decided to sell it. Important, Engine: As i said i can imagine for someone who knows their cars or is willing to pay to get it done i am sure the problem i am having with the car is easily fixable. I'm just not to car savvy to realize it. So the overall condition of the car as of 4-30-13 is as followed: The car and engine will start, but with help. The car does not seem to be able to start with it’s own power. I now jump the car using another car, which will get it started. I did this successfully on 4-30 and let motor run for about 20 minutes. In the past when i have gotten started it will run for about 30 minutes and the car will then abruptly shut off and won't be able to start up again unless you jumped it again. It has also just quickly stopped if i try to use something else having to use the battery like the windows. First few times with this problem, once the car was started i would try to move/ drive it and this has also caused it to turn off the engine. After that i no longer have attempted to try and move while the engine was running. Once got started i would keep it running but leave it stationary. This time i just wanted to make sure the engine was still in good condition and turned over and was able to start. I did not want to wait for it to turn off or have something potentially damage the battery. Once i turned off the engine i was able to start up the engine several times after that. If you'd like to see the car running i have a short clip i can email. The car has essentially has not been driven since the first owner so the mileage on the engine and transmission should be fairly accurate. The odometer now reads 53020 miles. Unsure if this reading is accurate. Can just go by what i was told and i personally know besides the original owner the car has virtually 0 miles accumulated between me and the friend i purchased it from. I'm sure once the different engine was put in the odometer was reset to what the engine previously had on it. Just to make sure it is clear, a brand new engine was NOT put in. The engine was replaced with a newer engine than what was previously had in it, which i assume was the original stock engine it came with. Also as mentioned a new alternator and starter were put in with no mileage on them. General, Overall condition: As you can see from the pictures the car is one of a kind. With very little having to be done to it. I will include every little detail i can about the car and need to know information. The CD player, speakers, sound system all have been checked on 4-30-13 and are in all great working order. Also the power windows were checked with no problems. During testing the driver's door popping mechanism was not working and was not opening with remote. The driver’s door has a popper in it but passenger door does not. This included the alarm that it has. The paint is an amazing pearl candy red. There are no major issues concerning this. There are 2 slight scratches on side of hood and on very slight chip on door where it would open, which is very minor. The car has 4 high quality Falcon tires with 20" rims. The back left tire is flat and has a hole on the wall of the tire so would need to be replaced. The other tires are in fine working order but show some wear and the tire thread is not great and shows some slight cracking. They would probably have to be changed in the nearer future. I am leaving the back tire flat, unless you tell me you would like it to be changed. I was planning on leaving as is because i don't know everyone's preference and i know some might be planning to just buy 4 brand new tires . For pick-up i would suggest a flatbed tow. The front widow will have to be replaced. I have no idea how it happened, only guess is somehow the weather but there is a crack in the glass that goes through pretty much the entire lower part of the window. Most of the interior is stock and is now 21 years old so please keep that in mind. I must say most is in great condition for its age. The dashboard overall seems to be in great shape and has all original knobs, etc. The top of the dashboard, as you might as expect with older cars, has some cracks from the sun and fading. The seats are original leather and have a decent amount cracking and tears. The carpet i believe is original but with some cleaning i did looks overall good. There are small little imperfections you might expect from an older car. The emergency break at near your feet came out and the knob on the side of the steering wheel came apart. Also one main thing that needs to be replaced or redone is the headliner. Use to look a lot worse but my attempt at covering it with suede failed and it begins to sag. There were many great things that were already done in the interior. Both your doors have been completely redone and covered in black suede. The whole construction of it is different and also was converted to automatic windows with speakers built into both doors. Also in the back of the corners of the car are more speakers built in with some beginning stages of upholstery work being put in including red matching inserts. Note: All components involving the trunk. I have not seen myself and only include all the original owner’s specs. This includes the custom red suede amp rack with all of its related components. Obviously i know and can assure you this car has all the things dealing with the sound system. Even if i can't see it you'll sure notice when you turn the music on. I just wish i could take pictures and see myself the set-up and custom rack in the trunk. Only reason i have never been in the trunk is because like the doors it is shaved. You would normally would press a button in the glove compartment and then press down on the back of the drunk and it would open; only problem with having a shaved trunk. I never was able to figure out another way to open it. As i said tho if you can take car to any one dealing with wiring or that specific thing i am sure it would be no problem. Just never had the time or money to tow to a place that would do that, before engine/battery problems. Important, Registration: Pink slip is in hand. The previous owner, as mentioned, ended up having car just parked in driveway for about a year. Did not really drive and in turn was not registered. When it was sold to me it was just transferred. For all the time i had it, i unfortunately also never was able to register it. When sold, buyer will get pink slip and car transferred over to them. The car has not been registered for about 5-6 years and did not realize the severity of this till i went to the DMV to make sure everything was in order to sell the car. Please read carefully and understand all of the following information before purchasing this car. All of the information provided is up to date as of 5-2-13 and directly from the DMV. The buyer should understand the fees involved in bringing this car up to date. There are NOT any liens, debts, etc. against the car. All back fees and penalties are only having to do with the car's registration. The following was told to me when i recently went to the DMV: If the buyer wishes to resister the car and bring everything up to date the fee will be $603.00. All of this includes the late fees, penalties, etc. I was told this amount is for if brought in on 6-12-13. If brought in any time after that there will be a small ~$20 late fee. For certain reasons i was told if you were to try and register the car any time from now to till before 6-12-13 it would be a couple hundred dollars more. This has something to do with how the billing the DMV works, Yes, i agree it is a little confusing. I got print outs and basically was told after a certain amount of time, which is every~3 years, the penalty fees for some previous years are forgiven and no longer charged therefore after. So in this case it would be recommended to keep the car unregistered till certain amount of time goes by till 6-12-13 and therefore it would actually be less expensive. I was told the best thing to do for registration is to bring it in on 6-12-13 and will be charged $603.00. If you were to bring it any time after this date the fee would remain approximately the same aside from a ~$20 late fee. If needed i will be willing to go to the DMV with you personally and if there are any problems with the amount being any more than $603.00 please let me know and i will pay the difference. You will only be responsible for the amount listed. So if you were hesitant rest assured if the amount is any different i will take responsibility for it and pay the difference. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Just wanted to say this is a great quality classic car. It's one of a kind. You'll never see one like it. I haven't! Most people don't do the things that were done to this car to this model of car. As you can see from the pictures the "final" result is amazing. The car has everything from the candy red paint, to the dual exhaust, to the rims and tires, to the sound system, to the converted automatic windows, and the suede covered completely new constructed door panels with speakers, to the shaved doors, all the way to the clean look of the shaved doors and trunk with poppers. This car already has a ridiculous amount of work put into it. There are only small minor details to complete or fix, mostly cosmetic. Also i would like to add this car is virtually rust free. When i got it i made sure there was no rust and have kept it well maintained I know anyone with a good knowledge of cars, or wants to learn, or someone that just wants a new car to their collection is willing to contract some work out can and will easily fix the problem with the stopping of the engine. As i mentioned i am almost positive it's not an issue with the engine itself so don't be alarmed. As i said it can turn itself over and run and continue to run. I recently just did it on 4-30-13 to make sure before selling. It just needs help and something is lacking the power to do itself without a jump. My best guess is it may be electrical problem, that's why many times my batteries have drained. I'm sure there's someone already reading this and know what the problem and how to fix it. Auction will be for 7 days with starting bid of only $1. No Reserve!!! This is an "As Is" sale Shipping and Payment: Sorry there will be no shipping offered. Buyer is responsible for pick-up.
