I am selling this wonderful 1991 Carerra Series 964 Porsche for my father. The time has come to move it on to the next enthusiast. He has enjoyed this car for some time now and has shown it great respect with it's upkeep. The pictures will speak for themselves, this is a very nice used vehicle. It shows normal wear for a vehicle of its age. As mentioned in the title of the listing, the engine was completely rebuilt by a very reputable Porsche specialty shop here in California. Documents to support the work will be provided to the new owner. I have had the great opportunity to be responsible for it's sale and so I have been driving the vehicle over the last several days to get a sense of what this car is really about. That being said, I have inspected it thoroughly and have come up with a fairly accurate description of its condidition. Upon first glance, you will notice that the paint and body work are beautiful. It has been garaged while not in use during its tenure in our family. There are a few nicks in the paint here and there from road use, but this is a rust free vehicle. The interior is a little bit let down by a small tear in the left door B pillar (pictured) and the leather trim on the steering wheel has lost some thread in 2 spots. Overall, the leather interior shows very nicely for its age. Better than average that I have seen. The wheels and tires are in beautiful shape. Brakes are new in the rear, with 50%+ wear remaining on the fronts. The carpets in the foot wells are worn, but not threadbare. There is 1 speaker grille missing from the rear parcel shelf. I'll see if it can be located. Now, lets take a drive. This Porsche starts right up. No smoke, no funny noises from the engine or transmission. In my opinion, the engine is in need of a valve adjustment. I don't think it's been done since the engine rebuild a few thousand miles ago. I say this because in neutral, or at a stop light with your foot on the brake, there is a slight lope in the engine. Certainly not power robbing, or even felt once the accelerator is pressed. Just a small detail that I noticed while in my care. It is not a misfire, just a light movement of the engine. This may be a characteristic of this particular model, but certainly worth mentioning to a potential buyer. Once in gear and on your way, it squats down and produces nice power quite readily and easily. In the manual shift mode, this car is way too much fun. Something else noticed while inspecting/driving: Both axle boots are torn and should be addressed. Also, as of recently, the speedometer has stopped working. My father has spoken to his mechanic and assures its a speed sensor and went on to explain that is also why the rear wing only elevates manually. Simple, easy fixes he was assured, but as mentioned, it's time to move it on to the next enthusiast. Because of the aforementioned, we have priced this car very well in the market. The reserve is fair and will not be disclosed. We are open to offers. The paper work is clear and ready for transfer. We will be glad to help with the transport, if that is the case, although the final cost is up to the buyer. We will also be glad to store the car for an agreed upon amount of time, as long as it has been paid in full per the acution terms.
