You Are Bidding on:A very Nice 1975 Honda CB400 Four This bike is a very low mile original survivor It has 8191 original miles on it and is very good condition overall. I bought this bike from a friend who bought it from the original owner a year or so ago. It is an original California bike and has been in California all its life, and still has the original California blue plate, which is very cool for you California bidders. The bike has the original Bridgestone tires on it which is good evidence of the low mileage. Overall, the bike is in very good condition cosmetically There is a fair amount of minor surface corrosion in the form of rust spots on most of the surfaces such as the gas tank, frame, etc. and surface corrosion on the engine cases which can be polished out and or repainted or powder coated to look like new again. Most of the chrome looks pretty good with only very minor pitting if any. The only items that have been replaced on the bike from original are:1 The right side cover looks to be a reproduction, which is black and needs to be painted blue or left black and paint the other one black as well. These bikes came with either black or painted side covers, so either way will be correct.2. The muffler has been replaced with an after market one which resembles the original and works and looks fine. The most attractive thing about this bike is that it runs great. It has great and consistent compression across all 4 cylinders (160 lbs) The tranny has the typical 400 four wine to it, but again, that is fairly common with these bikes. They all have it, just in varying degree. This particular bike is about medium in terms of the tranny wine. The carbs are being rebuilt as this auction is running but will be in perfect running order when delivered to the new owner. As it sits, the bike will need tires which I will install for an additional agreed to amount. The battery is newer and in perfect working order. The chain is the original one that came on the bike, so I would replace it with a new one for an additional agreed to amount. All the lights, turn signals switches and other operating systems are in working order. This is a great original survivor bike that could be left as is (its only original once) or it could be restored to showroom condition, which I can provide that service as well.
