Vehicle Detail
Relisted as previous buyer made a lot of stories up, but refused to pay. Please do not bid unless your EBAY feedback score is less than 50. I will reject it. PLEASE do not bid without intenttions of paying-As with this, I report all non-payers to EBAY I will not deal with anybody outside the US. 1992 Ford Thunderbird SC (super coupe) 3.8 five speed 340,000 miles. Red/ Black leather. All options for ’92 including moon roof, other than cd player (has 6 cd player) and alarm (one was added). JBL factory am/fm cassette with factory and aftermarket amp-also added Ford amp/subwoofer. All speakers replaced with high end Kickers. Car is driven daily, and just made 5 hour round trip to New Hampshire Tuesday. I have owned this for 18 years. always adult driven, mostly unmolested, and well serviced. It was put away winters for the first twelve years of it’s life. The motor still runs extremely strong despite the mileage. Have mint owners manual and somewhat shredded factory service manual. The bad: (and I’ll be over critical) All seats have wear/ rips. Not mangled, but sunbaked. Windshield is cracked. Left front tire is cut on the outside. I think a tie rod outer is completely worn to cause this. Odometer stopped years ago. Dash lights do not work. This is a blown 5 amp fuse…but something is shorting. Gas door button doesn’t work. Sun roof leaks if car is parked nose down in rainy weather-since new. I’ve learned not to park downhill. Air doesn’t work-blown compressor, but compressor was replaced-have new dryer (not installed) and green seal kit for r-134.Never vacuumed and charged. Passenger window runs slow-have new window motor. Windshield has cracks. Auto seat belts don't function. Sorry, revising as it comes to me. Struggled with CT smog checks for 2 years. Didn't pass this year with slightly elevated co. This with Sea foam in the tank. Phantom check engine light (sporadic)....haven't checked lately, but unfortunately sets no codes. For a vehicle this age, CT doesn't scan EEC. The good: Parts replaced in last year-Harmonic balancer-battery-alternator-starter-fuel injectors-maf sensor-plugs-master-rear brakes-antilocks removed( dreaded Teves mark II) and replaced with Crown Vic setup. All front end replaced several years back-including rack and pinion. Clutch done at 220k. (this was a still good original if that’s testament) only replaced as I was doing slave cylinder. Body is EXTREMELY solid with no rust and only a ding or two. Paint is baked on the roof, trunk, and bumpers, but the hood and sides still look great. This car would make and excellent restoration, or even a regular driver with a few fix’s. Not sure how many more miles this motor is capable of, but I had the valve covers and intake off a year ago (during injector replacement) and the inners were spotless due to 3000 mile oil changes it’s entire life. The ride-control struts (very pricey) were replaced with Motorcraft originals at around 150k. Got another car....I had hoped to keep but am running out of room for future projects. ps Just saw the accident check: 2008 accident.....surprised me. I hit a woman (or should say she walked into the side of my car) in the north end of Hartford.....no damage to the car....not so good for her. pss Car is in very good condition for it's age and mileage....FAR from perfect. (sorry...saw my pics and it looks like a show-car) Again, I'd rather be overly critical than have any disappointments. Uploaded interior pics....hopefully shows two splits in rear seat upper...where they meet package tray....seam split in drivers...also flaking in passenger front. Crack in dash...driver's side, and wear thru in driver's floor mat. On Apr-18-13 at 17:08:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to be clear. I will not be shipping this vehicle. It is local pickup only...that means you come with plates and drive it, or come with a trailer and tow it. If you want a distance shipper, this is on you. I'll do what I can to get it on a truck, but if I'm not here, I'll leave the keys. 1992 Ford Thunderbird SC (super coupe) 3.8 five speed 340,000 miles. Red/ Black leather.
