Hello and welcome to the auction for my fantastic 1963 Honda CL72. Let me start by telling you that this bike runs, shifts and idles flawlessly and the rest of the bike looks amazing for the year. This Honda has only 4312 original miles and all lights and horn are in perfect working order. The engine must have been rebuilt at some point because the lower end engine # is CL72E-315781, but the cylinder head states that it is a 305. It starts with a kick or two and you can hear the engine come alive with a sweet exhaust note out of the Snuff R Not exhaust system. The frame has been painted a few years ago with a base coat clear coat and looks great with a few chips here and there. The aluminum fenders, side covers and tank have been painted in a gloss silver and look great with a high luster, but the tank has some chipping around the gas cap (please see picture). The chrome wheels, exhaust and handle bars look to be original and do show some patina but look very nice considering the bike is fifty years old. The aluminum hubs have very little pitting and look very nice. The seat does have a small tear at the seam (see picture). The bike also has newer Dunlop tires, tubes and rim strips. I also have 3 keys, shop manual, owners manual, complete tool kit, extra tank badges, new oem clutch cable and some new carb parts. I have spent the entire winter going through this bike to get her ready for the spring Moto Giro in Massachusetts. Heres the list of what I have done.... New front and rear brake shoes (these bikes need all the help they can get. New rear brake cable. New R K chain, front and rear sprockets. New OEM Honda carb kits (Cleaned and syncronized). New fuel line and filters. Fuel petcock cleaned. New Barnett clutch and plates. Side cover gasket. New hardware for side covers. Newer Dunlop tires, tubes and rim strips (still have ink in the treads). Now the bike is ready for road use, collector or moto giro the choice is yours... Overall this classic Honda CL72 is in amazing condition and runs / rides excellent and should serve the winning bidder very well with the proper care.
