Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE! This car has a pretty crazy history, it is a one owner car still retaining its original title and license plate. It was last tabbed/registered in 1967 before it was involved in a single car accident, at that point in time it was tucked away into the corner of a furniture warehouse where it sat untouched until December 2012. This car is amazingly solid, the body is rust free aside from some surface rust on bare metal spots but no cancer. It is a numbers matching car down to the four original dated road wheels and the original engine. view 120 pictures here: I sourced some replacement parts that are included with this sale: replacement roof clip, glass beaded to bare metalcomplete passenger doorextra rear bumpernew windshieldnew front and rear window sealstaillight lensespr. rear reflectorstwo extra wheels/tires(original 356 but not pictured)things to note: rust free body original engine #609054 -does not turn overthis engine was installed in a VW van for a period of time after the accident, luckily it was never lost as the original owner still owned both vehicles. vin #211115original wheels dated 3,4,5/62all 4 original hubcaps(rough)original rear window, popped out during the accident and slid down the road but amazingly not brokenall body panels are original to this car, never and welding etc. I replaced the drivers rear axle shaft and tube(original was bent) and installed a new seamless axle boot. car rolls with ease.brakes look like new, drum linings are pristine, no corrosion. You can still see the factory paint tamper marks from factory axle nut torque note the original battery strap and spare tire strap still present.please review all pictures on the photobucket link to see all parts that are included in this auction This car has endless possibilities! If you love metalwork and hate rust repair this should be your dream car! It has to be pretty rare to find a car like this that has been wrecked yet stored indoors for 45 years! It really is amazing that this car still exists if you think about it. view 120 pictures here: On Apr-16-13 at 16:55:04 PDT, seller added the following information: I just received the following information from a friend of the original owner outlaying some further history and explanation of mileage: This was R## O####'s Porsche. I owned an import parts store in Olympia, WA in that era, and he was my customer for small tune-up parts, filters, and Castrol Oil. I knew about the accident, but didn't know he kept the car. He drove that Porsche plenty and was frequently in Olympia, Seattle and Portland on his furniture store's business. He rolled the miles on it but took scrupulous care of it. What a flash-back to see it on eBay! rc I asked about further details of the accident and got this reply: Sorry, but after 45 years, I can't recall the details. It seems like it happened near Shelton, perhaps out by Arcadia on those twisty bay-front roads. He surely knew how to handle a Porsche, but as you know they could be tricky when pushed to the limit, particularly if the road was wet. I recall how fussy he was about replacement parts. He wanted OEM, like real Bosch electrical and real Knecht oil and air filters which I stocked. I remember 'converting' him to NGK spark plugs that would outlast Bosch plugs 2:1. I had a pretty strong following among Porsche owners, and had a pretty good stock of common maintenance parts for 356, 911-912, and 914. I'd bet that your car has some of 'my' parts still on it! I was driving a '67 Alfa Romeo GTV Coupe that I bought new in late '66. As you can imagine, we had a friendly rivalry over our choice of cars!! My lead counterman grew up in Shelton and knew the family. They'd swap local Shelton gossip whenever ##### came in my store. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
