Vehicle Detail
1965 Country Squire “woody” Wagon. About the car; the car is all original minus the 390 which was replaced in 1978 with a 1973 351 4 Barrel Cleveland motor and tranny. Motor is very clean. Runs and sounds awesome. Drives and shifts nice. When the motor and tranny were installed they put in a floor shift. The interior is in great shape, no rips or tears in the seats. The dash is perfect. All glass is good but front windshield which needs replaced. The jumper seats are like new. Slide away steering is intact and still functional. Headlights, blinkers, taillights, dome light, gas gauge all work. The car also came with a factory air ride suspension. Have all original hub caps, missing one center cap. Car is basically rust free with only minor rust in the back quarter where exhaust is. Body is very straight. Has new tires. All electric windows work but a couple of them need freed up. Power disk brakes up front. Also comes with the optional luggage rack. The woman that I purchased wagon from bought the car in 1975 from the original owners. She has kept records of everything she ever had done to the car including a diary, which we have and will be included with sale. This car is a “barn” find. You can drive it the way it is as a daily driver or would be the perfect candidate for restoration as the car has never been touched; it is all original, including paint. Please ask all questions before bidding, do not bid unless intend to buy. 406-261-0468Car is for sale locally as well so seller reserves right to end sale earlyBuyer is responsible for shipping SHORT HISTORY ON THE FORD COUNTRY SQURIE The wood-bodied station wagon era was just about over when Ford made a very important change to its family hauler and gave it a new name, the Ford Country Squire. A full-size station wagon, the Ford Country Squire was built by the Ford Motor Company from 1950 until 1991 and was based on the Ford full-size car line available in each year. Always featuring the imitation-wood trim on the doors and tailgate, the Country Squire was the premium station wagon in the Ford Range. Able to carry up to 9 passengers, the Country Squire featured unique side-facing seats that were fitted in the cargo area, rather than the usual rear-racing seat. The standard American family wagon, the Country Squire was the top of the line model with similar 'Squire' wagons as top of the line for other vehicles, including the Pinto in the Ford line up. In 1950 and 1951, the Country Squire was based on the Custom Deluxe series, and the Crestline from 1952 through 1954, the Fairlane from 1955 through 1958, Galaxie from 1959 through 1966 and the LTD/LTD Crown Victoria from 1967 until 1991. On Apr-15-13 at 08:21:15 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been getting alot of questions on how car runs and drives. The car runs and drives but has been sitting for about 15 years so needs some minor things to make it a daily driver, carb work and some brake work
