Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Three owners since new, purchased from second owner in 2010. No smoker ever drove or sat in this car. It gets about 22 mpg on the highway – city MPG is nothing to write home about (~12). It eats-up highway miles in large chunks with its large tank (it has about a 500-mile max. range). I have never had any issues with the drive-train and have only ever had normal wear-and-tear items replaced. Mechanically, this car is very simple and serviceable. Plenty of these classic, GM, body-on-frame sedans are still running around. This is a great first car or daily-driver, and it seats six adults! GM stopped making this car (which was sold as the Chevrolet Caprice, Impala, and Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser) because they needed to free-up some factory space to get into the SUV craze of the 1990s. I’m selling because I have a new job and am looking for a new car. Service history: ABS wiring loom mended (02/2013) Starter motor replaced (07/2012) New tires (03/2012) Rear shocks replaced (03/2012) Front brakes replaced (hardware pack, rotors, calipers serviced) (03/2011) Steering pumps replaced (yes, it has two of them) (02/2011) Alternator replaced (01/2011) Rear brakes replaced (hardware pack, drums, shoes, cylinders) (10/2010) Fuel pump replaced (10/2010) Slight modifications include: (1) Aftermarket wheel covers as pictured (very similar in style to original Buick wheel covers), (2) A switch which bypasses the broken AC control module which is no longer manufactured (A/C and heat still work, you can still vary the temperature, but the fan speed is simply "on" or "off"), and (3) Since the air-ride pump no longer works, the rear ride height can be adjusted with a bicycle pump through a valve behind the rear, flip-down license plate frame There is no 21-year-old car out there – that hasn’t been fully restored – that doesn’t have its problems. With this one, you’re going to know what you’re getting into. I’m a young accountant, so I guess I err on the side of full disclosure. Conditions-of-note include: (1) Some visible rust alongside the very bottom of the right-rear quarter panel, (2) Clear-coat failure along the front bumper (looks fine, just like a matte shade of the same blue paint) and mirrors, (3) Very slow oil leak I’ve been driving-around with for some time (not sure what exactly is wrong, but it isn’t hemorrhaging oil by any means), (4) Loose front suspension – it will get you where you need to go just fine, but would need front suspension component replacement in the future to make the ride perfect, (5) Rear radio antennae and front speakers do not work, (6) Electronically-adjustable passenger’s front seat does not function (driver’s seat works), (7) Front passenger armrest has fallen-off, and (8) Typical scratches and dings for a car of this age If you are local and would like a test-drive, contact me and I would be happy to arrange it. Conditions-of-sale: Buyer must either pick-up the vehicle in-person or arrange to have it transported (any transportation/shipping fees will not be paid by the seller). $500 deposit required within 48 hours, with the balance of payment due through cash, certified check, or bank check only. Payment-in-full required at time of title transfer. Specifications (from Edmunds.com, for the vehicle as it left the factory): 5.7L TBI V8 (engine code LO5) (NOT the LT1 which was only available on later models) 180 hp @ 4,000 rpm 300 ft-lbs. of torque @ 2,400 rpm 4-speed automatic transmission 4,073 lb. curb weight 23-gallon fuel tank
