Starts with touch of the starter button; time and time again. Older restoration. Has a "working" heater and blower motor. The air vent in front of the windshield does open properly. Fairly rust though free other than usual & paint peel areas. Doors are solid bottoms(bottom of the doors pictures may be attached at some time or can be sent). Frame under the bed & over the axle is solid factory. The cab floor metal is good (fibers from the rubber mat padding is seen where the mat is lifted for picture; it is not fiberglass patching). The brakes work but grab a bit. All the line and bleeders are NOT stuck (all came loose for tweaking brakes). A new brake rubber junction hose was just installed which fed the back wheels brakes. The factory Vehicle Identification Number is stamped on the frame and clearly reads same as the Florida title in my name & was verified by a Jacksonville police officer as to frame stamping to title (copy of the title can be emailed or I may post a picture at some time/listing in the future). Still the Positive ground 6 volt system with a new battery and, the charging system does work. Starts very easy & will run idol without effort when started cold, or take off driving immediately. Excellent clutch & transmission action (no grinding). Most of the brake lines were new on older restore/revamp but front brakes are grabbing/sticking due to sitting & I think I'll have them bled so they pressurize evenly. The lighting is not working properly. I may get to it eventually, but solving is not part of this sale. I have a wiring diagram & it does not look all that complicated, but takes time. Headlights come on with some wiring connection tinkering, but is not working through the light switch. Bed wood is good/no need to be re-done(maybe re-varnished). Tailgate is original & functional. As seen, bumpers are chrome and good. Other hood/front chrome trims are good & functional. So, other than the brake tweaking, lights & tires, this truck is mechanically primo. All the gauges WORK. Horn does not (seems to be the horn itself since I direct wired it to 6 volts & it did not blow). The underside is clean, mostly rust clean, & was painted throughout when the earlier revamp was done. Glass is excellent, door windows roll good. ROOF paint note: The roof paint will be as closely finished & matched as possible before new owner takes possession (it peeled due to bad storage tarp, weather & sun baking; the rest of the surrounding paint is steadfast, DRIVER presentable). Or, I may make a "small" allowance if buyer says, "leave it for me"(especially if a complete repaint is planned-this truck is worth it since average original status 1940 Ford 1/2 tons are going $20k & up just looking & running restored). NEW/REBUILT ITEMS/PARTS: rebuilt carburetor(kit from NAPA), new fuel pump(MAC), original fit gas tank(Dennis Carpenter), gas tank sending unit, gas tank filler tube/rubber ring/connector hose to tank, anti-freeze & Zerox rust inhibitor, lower hoses & heater hoses, water pumps & motor mounts, voltage regulator(NAPA), condensor/distributor cap/rotor/points (points have not been installed-running good so no hurry-plus I like to take the distributor out to install/gap them), hood springs & bolts, new oil filter included(NAPA). Moisture inhibitor additive has been put into the the new gas, in the new tank. Has an aftermarket antenna nicely mounted-strong two point; for those that may install a radio or works as a running board grab handle (could have a seperate 12 volt radio or original 6 volt if find one). Also included is a FORD correct engine GREEN paint (ordered from MAC Parts). Comes with old time original jack & has the radiator underside splash shield (mounts under radiator; not installed). Radiator does NOT leak. Also, has new cardboard headliner w/cab surrounds & cab rubber floor mat/shift boot. Call for questions: 904-881-3495 This can be stored for 15 days from the day of purchase. I can get a 1941 Ford Sedan running/driving period flathead. Panel Delivery plus 1941 good running parts sedan-$7500 for both. All shipping is buyer cost/arrangements. On Apr-05-13 at 05:38:05 PDT, seller added the following information: A new "Ford master cylinder" (not foreign made) is being ordered from MAC parts and will be installed as soon as it arrives (2 days). Roof/spot painting is still pending. If a buyer prefers, it will be left for their "better" solution. My painter is trying to fit it into his schedule. On Apr-12-13 at 07:39:32 PDT, seller added the following information: NO ONE WILL OWN THIS FOR UNDER $15,500. WAIT, WAIT FOR ANOTHER IMPORTANT DATE, PRICE, FATE. SURE FIRED WAY TO "NOT OWN"=PRESENT BIDDING STRATEGY. The new master cylinder is in. To be installed when weather & my energy permits. No hurry, a reality buyer has not stepped up to the plate which certainly means no home run is in the plan. I'm in no more hurry than the NOW bidders. 1949 Harley Davidson SERVICAR trike on its way. I don't need the money and the 1940 Ford pick up truck would make a nice tow for my Harley.
