Vehicle Detail

1959 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door hard top. 318 V8 poly 4 barrel carb and push button automatic transmission. Good wide white wall tires. Last registered in California in 1988. Engine runs great and has good compression. It is currently running on an external gas can as I have no idea what condition the fuel tank is in. The radiator has a leak between the top and bottom tanks. The transmission is not working. You can put it into any gear, but it will only move about an inch and then settles back to where it was. The manual brakes are operable as is the manual steering. The vehicle starts with the key in the ignition. The car has some rust in the bottom of the quarter panels, right side of the trunk floor and on the driver's and passenger side floor. Overall, the rust is an easy and inexpensive repair. The interior will need to be redone. All the glass is good, with the exception of the windshield which has a crack. I have been unable to open the passenger door and the driver's door will not latch. The paint is either original or has one repaint. It's hard to tell. All of the exterior trim is there. The car has a clear Arizona title. This is an excellent car to restore or fix the trans and drive as is. On Mar-28-13 at 15:45:08 PDT, seller added the following information: When I was cleaning out the trunk today, I didn't realize that there was a trunk mat in the car covering half the trunk floor, since I had been using the trunk for storage of other car parts. Upon pulling up the mat, I discovered that there is additional rust through near the fuel filler tube, so keep in mind that the trunk floor will have to be replaced. These are inexpensive (about $95) and relatively easy to install. There is also a recessed slot in the trunk floor that runs from one rear wheel house to the other, directly under the rear window that the factory placed there which collected debris and caused an additional rust area about 1 inch wide and about a foot long.
