Vehicle Detail
Im selling my 1957 VW Bettle project. It is an original oval ragtop car. THIS IS A PROJECT CAR! This car needs a lot of work but this is a rare car and worth building. The body was found stripped in a field 2 years ago. I bought the car and started fixing it up to build a custom beetle. The pan is a 1967 and is set up for air ride. The rear suspension is based off the "Airkewld" air ride kit. Professionally welded and built. Comes with all the brackets, brand new chromoly heim joints, bushings, and arms. The rear is set up for 2 air lift bags (brand new included). The passenger side bracket just tacked in and needs to be finish welded. The front is an air strut style and brand new monroe struts are included and installed. Brand new EMPI drop spindles are installed on the front. Brand new Airkewld through rods/thrush bearings are installed on the front end. Brand new high clearance ball joints are installed on the front end. Brand new high quality rear floor pans (made in Denmark) are installed. Brand new high quality (Made in Denmark) heater channels are partially installed. These still need to be welded in the rest of the way. The body was squared and braced before heater channel replacement. All door gaps line up and body is square! Body is sandblasted in an good shape. Needs typical patch panels behind doors. The doors and hood are in unbelievable condition, I think they came off a 58 beetle. There is absolutely no rust, never been batched and original paint. All original window and latch parts, even original rubbers in great shape! These are some of the nicest original doors I have ever seen. The "W" deck lid was cut (very poorly) by someone who was planning on frenching a license plate in. Other than the hacked holes, the deck lid is very solid. Brand new door mounting plates have been installed The body has minor rust in the corner of the windshield frame area, and the corner of the rear passenger window area. There is some small pit holes in the trunk area. The original gas tank is in good solid shape with no holes. The spare tire well is rotted out. Brand new front and rear splash pans have been installed. I have all the glass for this car as well as a brand new windshield gasket and rear oval window gasket. All 4 fenders came from California and are super solid. The drivers front has some dents, but no rust. I do not have any roof parts for this car. The 67 transaxle is still in the car and works great. Brand new shortened and notched spring plates were fabricated for the rear suspension. The rear pan lays on the ground when aired out. Brand new tires are on the car with 0 miles. Like I said, I was planning on building this car and was not cutting any corners. Unfortunately Im losing my garage space and need to sell. This auction includes just just the body, rolling pan with transaxle, fenders, hood, deck lid, and gas tank. I have a 66 parts car that I was going to use for interior parts, motor, trim parts, ect. That car is available to whoever buys the 57 for an extra cost. The fenders, hood and deck lid are loosely bolted on in the pictures. The car comes with a current registration and bill of sale. NH does not require titles on a car this old and most states will accept a current NH registration and bill of sale. I have sold many antique cars out of state and never had any issues with this. The car must be picked up within 30 days of the auction end. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end. The remainder to be paid cash at time of pick up. If the car is not picked up within 30 days, a storage fee of $25 per day will be applied. If you do not intend on paying or picking up, please do not bid! I have the right to end this auction early. Anyone is welcome to schedule a time to look at the car before bidding. Please realize, this is a project car and needs a lot of work! Bid with confidence! See my 100% Feedback Score!!!
