1980TRIUMPHSPITFIRE1500???CONVERTIBLETHIS CAR HAS BEEN IN DRY STORAGE FOR MANY YEARSCLEAR INDIANA TITLE We are offering for sale this 1980 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE CONVERTIBLE. This car has been sitting in dry storage for several years. We purchased this car from a local recovery company that seized all personal property and real estate from a local gentleman. There is not a lot we know about his car or Triumphs in general. What we can tell you is this car appears to be complete and for the year the body appears to be solid. There is a small area of surface rust on the right window pillar and a small area of rust on the drivers floor board but other than that the body looks good. Don't get the wrong impression..... the car is not perfect, It has dents, scratches, and the paint is not the best but for it's age looks decent. The convertible top was folded down while it was in storage, it is stiff, shows it's age, and the windows are cloudy. The top may close better once the sun warms it up but right now it is stiff and will not completely seal up. The interior although simple appears to be complete. It does not look new but with some cleaning should be usable. We hooked it up to a battery charger, sprayed gas in the carburetor and it started and ran. We had to continue to spray gas in the carburetor to keep it running. We are sure the fuel system will need cleaned. Due to the fuel system needing attention we have not driven the car therefore we can not honestly tell you have the car performs. The odometer reads 63,859 miles which from the condition of the car could be actual. However due to the age of the vehicle we must sell it to be MILEAGE EXEMPT. This vehicle is being sold with a clear Indiana title. If you have any other questions please email us or call the number below. CONDITION: EXTERIOR: Old car that has been sitting in storage for years. If you are looking for a perfect show car, keep looking. If you are looking for a car the will make a fun, inexpensive driver, here it is. It looks as though the car was repainted at sometime in it's life and if you want it to look real nice it needs it again. It looks like there is a place on the hood and on the truck that was years ago repaired with body filler. Not a professional job and needs finessed. Overall the body is solid and worthy of a restoration are put a little money in it and drive it how it is. INTERIOR: Old and needs cleaned. The interior will never look new. Once again, clean it and drive it. DRIVE TRAIN: Starts and runs as long as you spray gas in the carburetor. SHIPPING and PAYMENT: $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of the end of the auction. If deposit has not been received within 48 hours of the end of the auction the vehicle will be re-listed, no exceptions. Balance due upon pick up. Vehicle must be picked up or paid in full within 10 days of the end of the auction. All shipping must be paid for by the winning bidder. We accept C.O.D. in person, bank cashiers checks, and bank money wire only.
