Vehicle Detail

1986 Chevrolet D30 Military M1008 CUCV 4x4 Pickup, 3/4 Ton, NO RESERVE, LOOK!!!! 6.2 liter Detroit Diesel, V8. Transmission: 3 speed automatic with a NP-208 Transfer Case. Front Axle is a Dana 60 and the Rear Axle is a 10.5" Corporate 14 Bolt Differential with a Detroit Locker. Axle ratio 4.56:1 and the Wheelbase is 131.5 inches. GVW is 8,800 pounds and the Curb Weight is 5,900 pounds. Fuel capacity is 20 gallons and Fording Depth is 20 inches. This 1986 Chevrolet M1008 with only 38,918 miles was purchased from the US Government last year. There is a lot of wear on the body, please see pictures. There are several dents, scratches and the interior dash is cracked in many places, please see pictures, overall good condition being a truck that is 27 years old. Motor is in excellent shape and all glow plugs were replaced 4 months ago with new AC Delcos. The starter was also rebuilt and starts up every time with no hesitation. I had a heated dip stick added this winter and I never had an issue with the truck not starting! These trucks are rated to tow 3,100 pound trailers on the highway and cross country off road. I had the truck inspected and drove it on the road, however it will only do around 40 due to the low gearing. But trust me, this thing will pull over a house!!!!! So here is the deal.....I have owned this truck for 13 months and have put a whopping 400 miles on it! I used it only on the weekends to check on my deer feeders and drive around the farm. I travel every week so this was a complete toy for me. I absolutely love this truck and never thought I would sell it, however, I just lost my company car so I have to buy myself another car and also have to buy my 15 year old daughter a car this August so it just didn't make sense to have a vehicle that I only drive around the farm on the weekends. Please understand this.........I do not do this for a living, I have well over 500 transactions and am still @ 100%!!!!! If I tell you something that is the way it is, BUT I am not a mechanic and know nothing about it but will answer every question as honestly and quickly as I can. I did hit a tree trying to miss my dog last summer and had to replace the driver's door, front quarter panel and the hood. My mechanic tried to make them match and they look fine to me, but please see pictures and be aware. Overall as you can see the body is rough and has few dents around, see pics. The interior is rough as well, see pics. I had a Pioneer CD planer and speakers added and it sounds great. There is a crack in the windshield and the side small mirror has a piece of plastic over it, see pic. I did have a seat cover put on the bench and added the seat belt additions so it is easier to get them, it has two full and one lap belt. It has dual exhasts and I also put a set of Buckshot Wide Mudders on it, D78-16LT. Trust me, this truck with these tires are unstoppable! I honestly have never been stuck @ our cabin on the river or anywhere and there are some wet areas. See pics, one of the tires does have a place on it when I had my wreck but is fine otherwise. It has a 24 volt electrical system and has an extra battery just for the lights. The two little ones on the roll bar are not hooked up. The two LEDs up front are just incredible, see pic, and I was told they come off of another military vehicle, not sure though. The windshield wipers do not currently work and as you can see the tailgate is bent. A friend dropped his blade with his bulldozer and it is now stuck. Not a problem to get another one from a junkyard though, please see pic. It does come with the military issue book, see pic, and I have added an auxilary plug in in the engine compartment so you can run a radio or anything else that plugs into an outlet when the truck is stopped and turned off. The door that we added seems just a little loose but works fine. The speedometer and fuel gauge work sometimes but not always. Please know that I am trying to give you the good and the bad and the ugly! I love this truck and it is one of a kind, but it is what it is! I accept PayPal only and remember NO RESERVE!!!!!!!! I do have the truck for sale locally so reserve the right to stop auction if sold. Again, check out my feedback and feel comfortable doing business with me. I want you to be happy. Please call me with any questions and good luck! I am in central Kentucky about one hour south of Louisville, please call with any questions. Buyer responsible for pick up or shipping, no refunds. Remember NO RESERVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!On Mar-23-13 at 19:38:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to add my cell phone in case you have any questions, Jeff @ 502-457-4183.
