Vehicle Detail

I "rescued" this classic from the back of a small used car lot where it had been put on consignment many years ago and allowed to sit. I had almost bought this car in the late nineties and it was almost mint back then - it is a shame it was allowed to sit outside and deteriorate! This is a very rare (only 2800 made) Oleg Cassini edition Matador. Hemmings Classic Car did an article last year on a car that looks almost the same as this one. It is equiped with a 360 V-8, automatic, power stearing and brakes, and factory AC. It still has the special hub caps, grille, seats, head light bezels etc showing it is an Oleg Cassini edition. Body - the car has some rust but is very restorable. Floors and trunk are good, some minor bubbling here ans there but the underneath of the car is solid. There is rust on the edge of the hood (I have the chrome piece that fell off). There is rust on the gas filler door. Some rust behind the rear window. The worst rust is under the vinyl top. It is very bubbly under the top and will need work when rthe vinyl is removed. Interior - dash is excellant, head liner is good, door panels are all good but the carpet on the bottom is faded. Carpet (Oleg Cassini copper) has some wear. The seats are still good except drivers edge (see pic). The interior would not take much to make nice again. The windshield is cracked but other glass is good. Drivetrain - does not run - it had not been started for 1 year when I bought it and I have not had time to work on it. It will turn over but the gas tank should be cleaned. I was told it ran and drove good but had some carb issues. It will need a little tinkering since it has been sitting. However with the low miles (48K)I expect the motor etc will still be strong. I really hope to sell this car to an AMC enthusiast who will give it a proper restoration. These are very rare cars and most I have seen has the 304 engine instead of the 360. I can hold the car for as long as needed once paid for - if shipping please keep in mind they charge more for non-running cars. Thank you for looking and if you have questions please email me your phone # and I will gladly call you to tell you more about it. Thanks!
