Vehicle Detail
This TR4 was bought by a serviceman stationed in Japan on June 7th 1966. Included is a letter to him in Japan from March that year stating the sale price of $2481.00. The car was first titled in November 1966 in Conneticut after it left the McGuire Air Force Base in NJ. Also included is a copy of the Colorado title from when the owner had moved to colorado and needed it retitled, this is title that I turned in when I bought the car a year ago. Being a pilot he created a preflight checklist and maintenance book that was kept in the glove box. This may be the best maintainced TR4 in existance. An Abarth exhaust had been installed on the car and the receipts are included as well as the period Abarth sticker and instruction for placing it. This sticker was never affixed to the car and is in original condition. The soft top is in good condition as is the tonnau and half-tonnau covers. Also included is the tool bad, spare, jack, and car cover apparently made at the military base. I bought the car in early 2012 from a family member of the original owner after his passing. After living in Colorado being driven to the Lowry Air Force Base the car was put into storage for many years in San Antonio. I replaced the listed items below with new parts to make it a reliable daily driver again but have left everything else original. Everything seems to be in good working order on the car, it does not overheat and has great oil pressure.
