Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my all original 1972 Suzuki T350J Rebel. The bike came straight from storage since the 70's. I bought it just as you see it, did a thorough carb cleaning and petcock rebuild, plugged up a battery charger and it started ON THE 2ND KICK! I have a clear TN title for the bike and original key. Matching numbers frame and motor. Here's some specs on it: Engine: Runs. Very good compression. Points plate and condenser all very clean. Oiler working as it should (smoked like a bonfire when I first started it and now only smokes as a two-stroke should). Carbs extremely clean on the inside but could use a real re-build kit to be road ready, no oxidation at all, floats seem to be working fine as no gas leaked out. Has original plugs still in it. Shifts through all gears. Kicker is nice. Body: Pipes are in great condition, not dented, downtubes nice, baffles in, not rusted through anywhere and are very solid, some light rust along seams that steel wool would buff out. Gas tank has a couple of small pings as pictured, is clean on inside with only some very light spotting but mainly clean steel. It seems some kid with a phillips screwdriver went to town on the seat and gauges, the seat has several X punctures and a ripped up area in the middle which is a shame because the original seat cover is soft and pliable like new. The gauges are busted up from that same incident, needles ripped off the speedo and tacho and plates bashed up, they show the original miles on the bike at 8949. REALLY annoying, the only real flaws with this bike. Fenders are in great condition with light aging on the chome. Rear springs have some heavier rust mainly on the insides of the springs. Wheels look great and will clean up even better. Frame is straight. Lighting: Missing front turn signals which may be why the rear signals just stay on instead of blink when you turn on the signals, both rear singals work. Brake light, headlight hi and low as well as gauge lighting all work but I blew the fuse to those lights when I turned them on while it was running with a battery charger attached. The original headlight bulb has low beam blown as well but would work as indicated by the "check lights" bulb in the tachometer. Hi beam works. Horn works! The bike is all original and has never been painted. The only modification I had to do to it was add an extra spring within the carb slides so that they would slide up and down without getting stuck. This is probably just due to an old throttle cable, and the springs aren't permanent or anything, just in there around the alignment rod that these weird old Mikunis have. Bike would be a wonderful candidate for a resto or even just as is around town. Tires obviously need to be replaced as well as chain, they are stock. It also needs a battery, it was stored without one thankfully. Old 2 stroke twins are getting rare with the cafe craze! I was lucky to come across this bike in this condition. I am willing to take the bike up to around 100 miles away at buyer's expense. I am also willing to take it to McGee Tyson airport for free for Forward Air shipping as arranged by buyer. Please do not try to pay for this bike via paypal in full, that would cost me a lot in paypal fees. I do require a $250 down payment via paypal, $60 of which is NON REFUNDABLE no matter what, this is because eBay charges $60 to sell a motorcycle under 2K dollars. I don't want to be stuck with the bill if buyer backs out. KEEP THIS IN MIND AND BID SERIOUSLY! I restore vintage Japanese bikes and know a lot about them, been working with them for years. I run a small shop where a couple of friends share the passion, build and sell. That being said, this is a very nice bike for its age and deserves to live on! Thanks for looking and please forward any questions. Thanks!
