1961 Chevy Biscayne 2 Door Restored former drag car I bought this car from a gentleman who rescued it from a shed in Missouri. It was a local race car from the mid 1960’s to 1972 and then retired to the shed where he found it in 2005. He found the car in pretty fair condition with minimal rust. Also said the former owner had replaced the front floor pans with sheet metal. They are solid but he said that they are not pretty. This was pretty much a frame ON as needed restoration. He repainted the car Satin Red, went through the motor, put new brakes, lines, shoes & master cylinder & replaced any other items that needed to be replaced. He put in new carpet & upholstery, including replacing the headliner. This is quality workmanship-no overspray from the paint. Bolts and hinges and anything that was not supposed to be painted was not painted. New door & window rubber except for the rear window. It had no leaks so he did not want to take the chance of breaking it. This car was a trailer queen. He trailered it to a few local car shows. He sold it to enable him to finish his 1953 Henry J “A” gasser. I bought the car with the intentions of putting it on the road. Due to health problems, my wife & doctor have brought my car days to a screeching halt, therefore I am selling the car. It had open headers so the first thing that I did was to install headers and mufflers. It had the wrong stall converter so I put a new 3000 600 horsepower rated and that took care of the problem. These are the only things that I did not get to do: Windshield wipers Neutral safety switch Back up lights Horn The car runs & drives out like it should and look great. It is an unbelievable nice car. I wish I didn't have to sell it.Please come look at it if possible. The miles shown in this listing are not the actual miles. Ebay requires that the milage be filled in but I do not know how many miles the car has on it. I am putting this listing on for my husband as he is not able to do it.
