Vehicle Detail

1955 CHEVROLET RARE SERIES 1 3600 PICKUP ¾ TON I have a clear title on this survivor Taskmaster Truck. This was a registered running Chevrolet 3600 Series 1 truck in Wyoming until a couple of years ago when the owner passed away. It looks to be a fairly solid in the motor and drive line, and the main part of the box and cab, but does have some rust in typical areas. There is a tool / carrying box in the bed of the truck (bolted on) with an air bottle that is hooked to the owner-installed air horn (see engine pictures). This truck had a motor rebuild of some kind back in the late 1990’s. I’ve included pictures of receipts. Looks like a nice rebuild using the 261 cubic inch block, machine work done to the head with all new parts, new clutch and re-surfaced flywheel. This work appears to have been done around 56,000 miles, and the truck now shows 80,292 on the odometer. The gauge cluster is in very good condition, and the dash seems to be in fairly good condition as well. There is a chrome velocity stack air filter on it now, the truck comes with a new chrome stock looking air cleaner and filter for it. The truck runs and drives and stops fine. The fuel pump and battery are new. The brakes have been bled and brake fluid has been put in the master cylinder. The brakes seem to work fine but could use a more thorough bleeding and cleaning. There are several sets of numbers on the engine. Head numbers are 3835913 GM18 on the driver side near the valve cover, and passenger side numbers are B28 913 241 570. Intake manifold number is 3836922 GM. The carburetor is marked ROCHESTER GM on one side, and is a single barrel carburetor with a Carter in-line fuel filter. The maintenance receipts seem to support the shop work done on a 261 block that it currently has. The bench seat is old and needs a cover. There are 2 blocks under each leaf spring which appear to be a lift kit (4 inches in total) in order to support the larger than stock tires and aftermarket wheels. The rest of the drive line appears to be stock. The driver and passenger side door windows and windshield are cracked, but the back windows and triangle windows are all good. The VIN number on the truck is different from the VIN on the title. The car has a CLEAR Wyoming title. There may have been a DMV mistake at one point. Shouldn’t be a big deal to get the VIN inspected if you want the title VIN to match the truck’s. Please read the description and look at the pictures before you make any decisions as everyone has their own opinion of what “clean” means.
